So ever since I started dreading Ive worn my hair up to work because a.] Its a frizzy mess and when its down I feel like a homeless man...and b.] the kids I work with have flexibility issues and I didnt want to freak them out with "new" hair. Today however, was a very lazy friday. I slept in till the last possible second and then just didnt feel like messin with my hair...so I left it down! I was kinda scared going to see my first client...cuz he's actually the worst....he's 3...has severe autism and has complete meltdowns when faced with change. I walked in and his mom looked at me and smiled the biggest smile and said I looked cute today! I sure wasnt expecting to get any compliments on my hair...then the little guy I work with came running up and pointed at my hair....I kneeled down and let him play with it...he loved it! =] It totally made my morning. Then I went to a meeting where once again I was a little nervous about the reaction I would get from my hair....but all the folks I work with and the parents that I consult all said they loved my hair and asked me why I dont wear it down more!!!! Caaraaazy! Anyways...it was a nice way to end the work week! =] Have a great weekend everybody!!! xoxoxo
awesome! with as many bad experiences as there are between jobs and dreads it's AWESOME that you had a good one! im happy for you and your good dready friday
OH Mandy! That must have just absolutely melted your heart! I can just imagine a little dude absolutely amazed at your hair. Actually, kinda makes sense as it's so tactile but I guess I would have originally thought the same as you. =) Big smiles for you! May your happy dready Friday continue!
thanx for sharing Mandy that is such a sweet story and I'm happy that your dreads went down wellso cute that the lil boy loved them. he must just realli love you!
It never occured to me either that dreads would be a good sensory toy for special needs children! All the more reason to keep my hair dreadin! =] Thanks for the kind words everybody! Today is just an all around great day!
