Well four years by all means is not that big of a gap. But see my friend i used to trip and smoke with all the time came and smoked me up randomly yesterday, shes cool as shit but we never had anything more then a friendship thing. Well when i went out and got in the car with her to go to buttermilk (A big freshwater creek, out parents partied at) her little sister was in there. Now she is only 12, i started smoking bud when i was 12 so no biggie there. But, as soon as i saw her i started crushing on her cause she was so cute. But anyway we climbed over the water out onto the rocks and started smoking, well me and her started flirting quite a bit. And as we were driving around town toking, she started giving me the eyes, and the smile. My problem is, i am 16, i have been threw A LOT of shit, and shes only 12 and is still only in her early smoking stages. Now would it be wrong, or weird for me to peruse her being such a difference in age, not it being 4 years, but our spots in life. And no i wouldn't have sex with her, lol.
i'd say it's not the age but the difference in maturity, sure she might me smoking but shes only 12, thats still a kid in my eyes, the amount people change and grow up between 12 and 16 is loads, so i'd say hold off ... & ofc shes gona give you the eye cus your (proly ) a cute older guy
Ooof. 12 year old girl and a 16 year old boy... To me that sounds like trouble. Yeah if you're anywhere near good looking of course she's going to be making googly eyes at you. I agree with Velvet in the difference of maturity levels there's going to be in that kind of age difference so early in your life. 2 year difference max I'd say at this point.

You're probably getting mind scrambled from subconciously detecting her newly projected body phermones which tend to be in overdrive for girls at that age. Forget the smoking, googly eyes and all that shit being the issue. It's most likely something else that isn't ordinarily thought of, hence, why there's such a seeming connection in such a haphazard age range. Please note I didn't say age gap; I said age range. Besides, a 12 year old girl's liking of a guy usually turns out to be yesterday's ice water within a week or so. It's just how they're designed; nothing personal.
4 years is nothing when you are older, but I would definitely make sure nothing happens at your age (and her age!) a) Legally: You'd be screwed (pardon the pun) b) I know lots of people on here started fooling around and having sex at that age, and I'm not opposed to that, but I think it should be with someone closer to their own age if that's what they want to do. I'm not trying to judge you, just don't want you to get into trouble or for her to do something she might regret
Whether or not that is significant depends on the ages. If we're talking 60 and 56, four years is nothing, but if we're talking 13 and 9, four years is a world of difference. There's no flat rate for this sort of thing. For kids (teens and tweens), the ages really should be pretty close together, but by the time we're adults it's not so bad for the gap to spread a bit. Thirty and twenty (ten years) isn't a big deal since both are adults, but ten and twenty (also ten years) is a big deal.
I kinda know what you're going through. My current girlfriend is 14 and I am 17 years old. I find her very mature for her age, so to me it doesn't really matter. I love the girl to death! But I do get comments in school from my friends (jokingly) and her teachers (not so jokingly) about how I'm "robbing the cradle" and stuff. But I'm a good kid, and I intend to do no harm. She has a 12 year old sister. Dude, don't tap that. You're a year younger than me. The most I would say about her sis is that she has potential for MY younger bro when she's older. Let her be.
