    Right,
Sorry about my negativity yesterday on the other thread, alot of pressure to contribute towards the household recently, but I guess I was looking for reasons as to why no one would employ me

When I look at my dreads somedays it's like they are the most beautiful things I have created/stuck with in my life, and I can't ever imagine cutting them.

The last few weeks, I have began to doubt everything I have ever done in an attempt to understand whats going on in my head.
All I see is the 30 odd tiny clumps of loose hair I cut when I first got them backcombed, the mini fringe of hair I cut when I first got them.

My dreadies don't feel dry, but they are getting more and more broken hairs sticking out, I know we covered this before (hair can't escape the dread when it falls out), but it's happening on so many I'm getting worried.

I don't know if it's normal to have sooooooo many broken hairs sticking out, the pics never show them :( I don't know if to put it down to using the Deep clense only every week, perhaps the salt is too ruff for the hair eg. drying it out.

All the shampoo's I use make my hair feel REAAALLLY waxy, sort of unwashed and leave a horrible buildup on my scalp.
I get the buildup regardless of what I was them with :( Not only that but my dandruff problem is getting worse!

    HELP!

    I'm not cutting them!

I had a good dready day today, I got complimented by a crazy pensioner in the post office!

I love you all, I am now officially back :)

    Don't be such a princess.

Just wash with water if you don't like the feel of your hair after shampooing it

Have you tried washing with anything else? I stopped using my knottyboy bar of soap and just use the bicarb wash now with apple cider vinegar. I've been doing this for maybe two weeks now and my sludge and dandruff has gone down. I can't bleieve it actually. Hubby even had a look and said it was much better. And I'm trying to get to just water and am on Day 5 of not washing... but getting greasy so may need a wash tomorrow.

If you do'nt want them, then cut them.. .maybe you need to restart the journey using the knowledge you have now. It's totally up to you of course. But if you want to keep them, try washing with something else so you don't suffer.

I'd suggest you stop inspecting your dreads too much, and concentrate on getting on with the more important things in life. Good luck...

Have you given the cider vinegar much of a try yet? Aloe vera gel? Also, and I know it's maybe not likely to be everyone's favourite option, but Knotty Boy's conidtioning spray is good. It can encourage a few more flyaway bits to pop out, but not in a devastating way, and you seem to think you have a load of those anyway so maybe you wouldn't notice a couple more :p

    Also, chill :)

could the waxy feeling be from..umm wax?
and id definately switch to just bicarb, then after i do a rince with aloe or cocoa butter if theyre too dry
id stop using the salt if u thingk the4 salts too drying
and the paerts u cut..ignore when they grow out they'll dread

oh the bicarb, add like a shake of teatree and a few shakes of rosemary and the dandruff will go away

I'm with you man. My head looks like a mess with the loose hair. My wife tried to thread them back in the dread but they aren't tight enough to hold them. I don't know what else to do about them but nothing right now.. I'm on 1 week only, my head itches, & the dandruff is kinda scary but today I got this Jamaican mango & Lime. Maximum relief, no more itch, gro spray.. contains:

Deionized water,(Aqua,) mineral oil, olive oil(olea europea oil,) glycerin, polyquatemium 32, propylene, glycol, diazolidinyl urea, methylparaden, propylparaden, menthol, fragrance(parfum)

    Any good?

So I put that on and they also sent this wax sample, i know I'll probably regret it but my locks are falling apart and I hoped it would help them begin. I also rebackcombed a few today, put a few drops of rosemary and tea tree in and put rubber bands on the roots to keep them together until they do something on their own.

They are really being a bummer but I have got comments. I'm going to stick it out a little longer, got some bonner's coming so we'll see what happens.

    Any advice?

    got damn another dreadlocksftw

i would offer you some advice, but you seem kinda whiny and unlikely to listen.

however, it is the 4/20 weekend so try smoking two joints and get back with me in the morning. see if that changes how you feel.

oh and baking soda. try that. good for dreads as well as crack.
