what subject you you like to teach and what age group would you prefer to teach it to? And why?

Let's try and keep this to subjects which already exist in the education system please.:toetap05:

I guess I would go back to my old major and teach literature to high school students.

The discussions can be fun. That's the only part I miss about it. The lesson plans and such can suck my left nut.

I never gave any thought to teaching but if i did I think I would like to teach art. Its a creative process and teaching people to be creative might be nice

I really liked English Studies (thats what they call it here)...the discussions were fun, philosophical and off beat and I liked it when we read plays out loud, especaially equus. The horse sex scenese were priceless.

I personally would teach Biology to seniors. Seniors because they are more enthusiastic about their studies, and Biology because it changed the way I think about the way I live my life and the way I see the planet.

Here they teach biology to freshmen.

I chose English as my major because I loved the literature classes. I was forced into changing it to Secondary English Education because my parents wanted me to be "secure". Fat lot of good that did them. :D

I would die. I am venomously against traditional pedagogy (especially as it's intrinsically tied to class stratification). I rather hook.

either high school Algebra 1 or college level Algebra. mainly because I think I do a great job at explaining math to those who don't get it.... I've been tutoring a lot of my friends for years now. I think the main reason why so many kids 'hate' math is because they never had a really good teacher to explain things thoroughly to them and make sure they get it.

I had an amazing Algebra 1 teacher in ninth grade, who was my teacher again for Honors Geometry in tenth grade.... I'm really lucky to have had him, he made me a really great math student for years to come. and I'm pretty sure that before him, I 'hated' math too.

Good question. Well I'm only really patient when it suits me, so I guess that the best ages for me to teach would be around 5-6 on good days. Every other day it'd be safer to have me around 13 year olds or something so I dont loose my marbles and start throwing pencils and rulers at the children. The 13 year olds in my town are pretty cool kids.

I'd want to teach art, I think. At least if I'm only teaching the little ankle-biters I can sit down and fingerpaint and make spaghetti string photoframes with them. I love watching Spongebob Squarepants, and I wouldnt mind nap time either.

Language, because it fascinates me and I think everyone should speak at least two languages. Any age group.
