some continue to feed thier dogs food with animal products and others do not...there are now even vegan dog foods on the market...with proper care and attention to their health and diet dogs can be as easily vegitarian or even vegan as humans

I'm a vegetarian & my dog is still an omnivore. Just like I'm not going to push vegetarianism on people, I'm not going to push in on animals. Unless he decides to not eat meat he can eat it all he likes (well, at scheduled meal times ha).

disquised- i think the same way my little dog eats all natural and my big dog eats kibbles and bits lol (the natural food makes his stomach upset)

i dont mean to be confrontational ...in fact as a vegan myself my dog still is given meat on occasion...but i dont think your dog has a choice either way if you are feeding him dog food that contains animal products and not the option of a food without them...though your dog would likely still choose the food with meat...just saying

A dog is mainly a carnivore, therefore it should eat meat. But when the meat comes from organic farms it will be of better quality and the cattle will have had a better life, so I'd say feed them that, instead of forcing a vegan diet on them.

Most I know continue to feed them normal dog food, some people put their dogs on a vegetarian diet (as dogs are omnivores like us). I wouldn't recommend that without intense research however.

I have a cat, cats are carnivores and need meat to be healthy, so although I am vegetarian, my cat is not meant to be, and his health and life lies in my hands, so I feed him cat food. I wish it didn't come from where it does, but it would be dangerous and wrong for me to force my chosen vegetarian lifestyle on my cat, he is a carnivore, I'm not. Some people claim to have their cat on a successful vegan diet but I question the health and life span of those poor cats.
