Ok, name a song which a band covered that was better than the original version. Here is one: Blackfoot doing Free's Wishing Well. I think Blackfoot's version is better.
Good choice. Ok, here is another one. I like Eric Clapton's version of Cocaine better than the original of Bob Marley's.
Frank Marino's live version of "Purple haze". Jimi is god, I know..., but I just dig the hell out of Frank's (and the rest of the band's) energy on this one.
Yea, a reggae version of cocaine would have been cool! Oh! Here's one... Zappa's reggae version of "Bolero" from the "Best band you never heard" tour. P.S.(For those of you who didn't know...Maurice Ravel's "Bolero")
The Beatles - twist and shout The Band - When i paint my masterpiece Kris Kristoffersons original version of sunday morning coming down is so much better than Johnny Cash's cover
Well there's the obvious "all along the watchtower" I like Jimi's better than Bob's I also like Eric Clapton's version of "knockin' on heaven's door", can't say I like it better though. Again not better but well done is Green Day's (I hate to admit this) rendition of "working class hero" for anmesty international
Grateful Dead's psych version of the classic blues song "Good morning little schoolgirl"; Axiom Funk's STRIKINGLY funkadelic version of "If 6 was 9" by Jimi!
I like mott the hoople's version of 'all the young dudes'(bowie) I like phish's version of 'loving cup'(rolling stones)
I'm sorta stuck on The Killer's version of "Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits. Excellent cover of it.
