You all are forgetting about drugstore cowboy (GREAT movie)! 1. Fear and Loathing 2. drugstore cowboy 3. the salton sea 4. requiem for a dream 5. Spun 6. trainspotting:cheers2:
1. Requiem For A Dream ( the score by The Kronos Quartet is one that will stick with you forever ) 2. Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas 3. Trainspotting 4. The Salton Sea (not SULTAN. c'mon guys, get it right ) 5. Naked Lunch (Fucking insane movie about a exterminator who gets addicted to his own pesticide. It's fucking crazy and definitely worth a watch!) 6. Candy (a must see for Heath Ledger fans) 7. Spun That's my favorite drug movie list If you haven't seen any of these movies, then get and watch em.... :cheers2:
It is salton isn't it. Sorry. You better make sure you don't ever make a mistake!!! I'll be there watching YOOUUUUU! I thought it was funny for some reason when I read candy it reminded me of GO. Haha, that movie sucked...
Wow, this post has gained a lot of popularity fast I like trainspotting and requiem because they are so gritty and raw. The scores, you guys are right, go perfectly with the themes. I forgot completely about spun, but thats cuz i dont do meth anymore. Its a good ass movie though. Im surprised, no one has mentioned Blow yet. No coke heads on the boards I guess!
Blow had Johnny Depp in it, so it's automatically on the "Good" list. I love that man. No other man can pull off a pirate costume with eyeliner quite like my Johnny.
Yeah, always wondered if Johnny Depp was supposed to be gay in Pirates. He's a very, uhm... effeminate pirate.
Drugstore Cowboy I haven't seen yet. I have it burned, just haven't watched it. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was amazing. Candy was awesome. Basketball Diaries was good. Groove and Human Traffic are awesome MDMA related movies. Trainspotting is one of my favorite movies of all time, minus the baby scenes...I can't watch those after having a kid myself. The one scene (you all know which one I am talking about, I am not going to spoil anything for people who haven't seen it) makes me sick just thinking about it. Requiem for a Dream was possibly the best movie I have ever seen. Spun was alright, but I can't stand looking at Meth-heads. They scare me.
^ watch Drugstore Cowboy now!!! Also the movie Go is pretty sick, about the rave scene, ecstasy. And how could we forget Kids with all the blunt smoking, drinking, sex, and rave drugs, etc. Requiem For A Dream is one of the most beautiful movies ever made. I actually live like blocks from where the external scenes were filmed, such as the grandma's house, the boardwalk, Coney Island, etc. so I love the movie even more because of just like it containing my childhood and what not. Layer Cake is also fantastic, Daniel Craig's best easily with such a surprise ending in my opinion. Tons of pills, cocaine, heroin, etc. and lots of violence.
I was just about to post, that I have seen a movie a few times on Showtime with Heath Ledger and and girl shooting smack, i believe back in Austraila, but that I could not remeber the name of it and bam you hit me with it. Candy was the girls name wasn't? Also, it seems like they did their homework and they portreyed(sp) what it's like to be really deep into an H addiction very well, wouldn't you agree? Also I love Blow, and Traffic was good too.
Yeah Candy was the girl's name and they did do a really good job, as far as I could tell. I've almost forgotten all about Blow. I like Traffic better, but Blow is also the shit.
Anyone here ever see "Stoned Age"? Pretty cool movie. "So how you guys find out about this house." "Tac told us?" "Who's tac?" "Just some dude"
Alright you guys seem to have hit the obvious ones.. except for ONE.... DAZED AND CONFUSED!!! Classic, fuckin classic movie. And of course, it's predecessor: "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." Movies: Fear and Loathing in las vegas Trainspotting Requiem for a dream Kids Basketball diaries Spun Permanent Midnight Groove Blow Scarface Dazed and Confused Fast Times at Ridgemont High Half baked (not serious, but still classic) Pulp Fiction (didn't revolve around 'drugs' but had it's moments) Love Liza (amazing movie, if you haven't seen it, check it out) Gia (plus you get to see Angelina Jolie *completely* naked, which never hurts a film) True Romance (not really a 'drug movie', but it revolves around a coke deal) Brick (? anyone agree with this one? Awesome movie) Magnolia (has a lot of drugs in it, and IMO, one of the best films of all time) *-[my list kinda digressed from how "druggie" the films were]-* Books: 1. Less than zero 2. Twelve 3. Rules of Attraction 4. House of Leaves
OMG remember in Pulp Fiction where she thought the scag was yey and did a HUGE ASS fucking line? That was horrific. But damn, bet she felt amazing for like, a split second
goddamn right on The Basketball Diaries.... I cannot believe i forgot that fucking movie Drugstore Cowboy was also a good one and i have to agree with Blow being a great one as well. you guys should check out Naked Lunch. that movie is fucking weird man. it reminded me of Soylent Green for some odd reason, lol... idk why
