i think there are two burger huts ... a lot of people like big chico burger.

there are tons of places to eat in the downtown area.. and always something to do there.

every thursday the FREE local paper comes out.. they have listed tons of shows and things to do in there. http://www.newsreview.com/chico/home

To give ya heads up, I am gonna write a lot. I have been living in Chico for little over 10 years. Personally, I want to move from Chico but it has nothing to do with the town. High school wise, it's not my scene and most of schools here are into the rap/gangster vibe. Not being in high school, your not gonna have that problem. It's a great town for people in and out of college. Even though Chico is known as a party/college town it has gotten better minus the few riots we had.

It has a great hippie vibe especially downtown. People are really active here whether it's protesting, going to the farmer's market (a great highlight of Chico) or trying to help the city go green and organic. I would say most people here are open minded. Bidwell Park is gorgeous! Also, there are nice little unique and quaint homes throughout Chico.

About the burger joints, I use to eat at In-N-Out and Burger Hut, both are great....but I stopped eating meat about 6 months ago. Big Chico Burger is popular but it's right across from a high school, my high school actually. Since your coming here during the summer it's not a problem but just beware during the weekdays when the school year starts.

I recommend The Pageant theater because it has an old school feel and they play amazing films that don't go to our bigger theater in town. Chico has it's own wiki website that you might want to check out like for restaurants or anything else your curious about. http://www.chicowiki.org/

    Hi there,
Chico is a really cool place. Fore one the climate is awesome. It gets a little hot during the summers but a dip in the one mile pool in Bidwell park will fix that. Alos, it is a cute little town but that has a lot to offer still when it comes to food and drinks. Check out http://www.dailypubcrawl.com/ca/chico/ for some local happy hours, drink-specials, or coupons on food etc. It will give you a good idea of where to go and meet new people in town.

    Cheers!
