ok, as some of you might know, i am prescribed oxycontin and endocet.
most of the time, my daily dose adds up to 100-120mg oxycodone.
i take most of my dose oral, which according to my doc, alleviates pain for up to 12 hours.
now i usually rail 40mg of that 100-120mg a day.
i know that if i was looking to get high, i would get a bigger rush up the nose but have a shorter high duration.
my question is, how long, if i snort my meds, will i actually get pain relief for?
i can only assume that it would be a shorter duration then 12 hours.
but im just curious as to how long it lasts up the nose.

When you break the time-release, you get the medication all at once. Oxycodone has a half-life of around 3-4 hours...so that is probably the longest you are going to get pain relief for.

What U4ia said is true. Also, different ROA's have different lenghts of action with the same drug. The general rule being, the quicker something gets IN your system, the quicker it gets out. Which is why smoking doesnt last as long as snorting, which doesnt last as long as oral.
