I have been wondering what, if any, are good yoga techniques to start the day with and get ya going good. i find meditation in the morning doesn't work well with me as i feel a need to be more active than that? any suggestions, or is this just an odd request?

I usually do a body scan meditation where I start with the toes of my dominant hand (right for me). I scan up one leg mentally, then the other leg, my torso, my right arm, my left arm, and end with my head. You want to acknowledge any feelings that come up as you are doing this and see if a particular feeling is associated with a certain part of you body. You also want to clear any blockages in your energetic body that you feel as you are doing this.

I then spend about ten minutes asking any questions that I want the answers to (usually "Who am I?" for me). These can be questions that pertain to work or your life, or problems that you want to solve but don't have the answer to. Then I'll try to keep my mind blank just focusing on my breath for another ten minutes or so.

The morning is also a good time for yoga or tai chi exercises. Some people also like to plan out their day during this time, visualizing how they would like it to unfold.

It's good to note what the feeling is and where you are experiencing it, then let it go. Kind of mentally release it. If you get the same feeling in the same place recurring it would probably be a good idea to get some help from an energetic healer (Reiki, Theta, etc.). A psychoanalyst would probably have you explore the feeling in as much depth as you can to get it to release.
