Looks like something is wrapped around those dreads! Maybe the guy did it himself..doesn't say they wrap anything around them on their site.

Well I have to say I'm quite relieved you don't hate the look of the place.

my boyf is a tattooist and so he usually trades people tattoos for anything we get..! But if the person who does the dreads doesn't want any tatts then he said he would pay for me, as a gift.

Im from Wales, UK, and I moved to Sandvika last year :)

    Whereabouts are you?

there are dodgier looking dreads than that. I was in the same boat when i started i wanted to get someone who knew what they were doing, but who knows better than mother nature? help it a long with a little backcombing and you can save yourself a lot of money or tattooing time if you can trade it

also..did you really think the pics looked dodgy? I thought they looked pretty good, seeing as they were new, I guess.

i saw some really nice looking dreads on there, everyone has different tastes you only have to read through some of the posts in this forum to see that....

    Some ppl like thin/fat /loopy /natural/wax.

Can you find out more about their reputation??
I mean try to get as much about them as you can,,as you'll have to live with them.

Also there are a few ppl where I live that makes dreads, one does them in a shop and the other goes to ppls houses....ive seen dreads by both of them and they look neat.
Just cause your paying for them does not mean they will be shit and they dont know what they doing.

some of them do, some one or two i thought looked waxy aswell, but then again some look quite nice, but since your paying someone they should be doing the perfect ones for you so as long as they do that and your happy to pay go for it, id just suggest against it considering you can get the same effect yourself, plus a lot of people seem to have a deeper feeling towards their dreads when done naturally or backcombed by themselves, but your dreads mean whatever they mean to you, do what makes you happy

didn't read through the whole thread but, to the original poster:
i started with just one lock at the nape of my neck and had it for about a month. the rest of your hair will get jealous and lock in with it. and like you mentioned, it is very difficult to brush/comb without getting snagged in your lock(s). if you get one or a few you're gonna want more. at least that's what happened to me.
