this happens every god damned time i quit drinking...and now i want a ciggy...but im quitting those things too... if im not careful, ill end up talking to myself
Insomnia is not uncommon after a night (or several nights) of heavy drinking. Your body goes into rebound mode and becomes hyperstimulated. I don't drink very much at all anymore (at the most once a week), and every night following the night I drank I can never sleep. There are several things you can take to help you sleep: melatonin, valerian, diphenhydramine (Benedryl), and others.
It's funny because less than six months ago Jerry basically accused me of never getting laid. When I asked him about the last time he's gotten any, he said something like "the other night." LOL! Busted. C'mon Jer, when was it really? Three years ago? Six years ago? Hahahah.... just messin' with you.
I slept horribly last night too. And here I was, just thinking the other day how I had actually been sleeping half decently lately. Insomnia really does suck. I think part of my problem though is, what with it being so warm the past several days, I have all of the windows opened and I can hear everything outside. Everybody has spring fever and there's more traffic going by, more loud car steroes, more people staying outside later and making lots of racket. I'm telling you, I really, really need to move to the countryside.
