I'm not saying Rats interpretation is incorrect, but i see what most people probably see, in terms of his arm positioning, him taking a christ position.

I have to admit, i have read a few threads from HHB thinking he is making a big deal out of small things, such as kids giving the pledge of allegiance to a pic of obama instead of the flag and such. But i have to agree on this one, it's very creepy.

My only question is though, how much input did obama have in regards to this painting? i dont have nearly as big a problem with people thinking he is christ as i do him thinking he is christ.

 

Yeah it's defiantley a Christ pose, notice how Christ's arms are also raised? another big give away is the head tilt to the right (our left), most depiction of the crucified Christ have his head tilted in this manner, like Obama.

what interpretation are we supposed to have? it really narrows the options..

if he was indeed a church going christian as he professes to be,this painting would and should be seen as blasphemy to him and therefore he SHOULD be coming out and denouncing it.
IMO his silence on this speaks volumes.

hell one would think even if he was a devout muslim he would be offended by being portrayed as christ like. one would think even more so than if he is a christian..

Don't those two things usually go hand in hand? A lack of money has an interesting effect on people. Besides, it's not the first time there has been a rise in those stats.

I personally think the painting is weird, but not necessarily "evil" or whatever. I definitely don't think this is a big deal at all. It'll sell some post cards and shit and some people will flip a few coins. It's just business. People are obsessed with God and with Obama. Put the two together and you have.... *drum rolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll* a summer blockbuster that nets MILLIONS.....

Maybe he sees himself as a sort of savior and not "Christ-like" per se? Maybe religion is SUCH a touchy issue with his whole presidency that he dares not even acknowledge the existence of the painting.
