Last house on the left The hills have eyes The Changeling To a lesser degree: Suspiria The haunting of Julia Don't look now The Wicker man Feel free to add more
Give it a whirl it's great...especially when he says is it worth your soul...Oh and watch part 2 also one guy wishes to the wishmaster that another guy should go f--k himself, it's actually really entertaining...it kind of makes ya not make any wishes anymore...
"the texas chainsaw massacre". because it's hilarious. what happened to the ending, did they run out of film or something? xxx
Although its probably not a true horror film i'm quite partial to House of a 1000 Corpses, and The Ring is pretty good as well. Nightmare on Elm Street is classic viewing and so is Scream.
An American Werewolf in London Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein Alien The Shining Misery A Nightmare on Elm Street Dracula Night of The Living Dead (1968) The Fly (1986) Child’s Play Vertigo Rear Window The Birds
The entire Nightmare on Elm Street series needs viewing... I know some of them are kind of cheesy, but they're really good movies, honest. But yah, not really "scary." As for scary movies... The Birds The Grudge (I nearly pissed myself) Dr. Giggles The Evil Dead series.. again, not overly scary, but the zombies (especially in the first two) are really really cool. And the major lesson is once again taught: If you find something in another language, do NOT read it out loud, play it out loud, or anything else out loud - this will never, EVER end well! LOL
The Changeling scared the living crap out of me. I just watched it on Halloween night. I've been thinking that wheelchair is creeping up behind me ever since! Other scary ones: Ghost Story (based on the Peter Straub novel of the same name. Quite chilling) The Ring The Exorcist Blair Witch Project (I know a lot of people didn't like this one, but it scared me!)
I still can't figure out the hype about the Ring. I saw it a while ago and just didnt understand why it scared anyone. I thought perhaps Ringu was scarier, so I watched that one, and the story was a little better (more background information) but it was even less scary than the Ring. I also saw House of 1000 Corpses and hated it. I thought it was so funny when I read a quote from Rob Zombie. He said "I never went to film school, I just watched a lot of horror movies". I thought that was exactly what the movie looked like. It was a rip-off of 100 other horror movies with predictable twist after predictable twist, yet no artistic integrity. The only exception is the beginning with the clown. After that it went downhill. Someone here also mentioned The Hills Have Eyes. I know it's like a horror classic, but I just don't get it. It is a typical horror plot with nothing that really sticks with you. Aside from the weird looking mutant it's hardly a horror movie. as for ones I like: Last House on the Left Wishmaster Texas Chainsaw Massacre (I don't care what anyone says, the original is scary as hell) The Shining Night of the Living Dead The Evil Dead Blair Witch Project (alot scarier in a packed theater) Psycho I am sure there are more, but not that I can think of right now. P.S. Has anyone seen Jack Frost? Not very scary, but very entertaining.
