i have never been so overwhelming disappointed to say i'm an american. i am utterly disgusted with the majority of our nation right now, more than i've ever been in my entire life. 11 states voting out gay marriage? another four years of bush? despite continued disapproval ratings, the majority of the people of this country were still too scared to vote for anyone but bush, and that's pathetic. absolutely pathetic.
at least my state went kerry, but... still....... :/ dont care to remain in the states even more.,. im really not too sure,., i like your princess signature banner, however, happyhaha hehe
The religious right came out in droves, I wonder if things would have been different if it was Howard Dean instead of Kerry, who seem much more focused! Just got a little hyper and burned for it.
I feel ill myself. I expect to be a Canadian within a years time. Bye I agree with brothersun and have always felt it, that DEAN was our man, he had the passion, he riled the base up and would have gotten the rest excited too. It is my theory that the republicans rigged the primaries. They felt threatened by Dean big time. The media then sealed the deal. Fuck America. I hope there is a draft, another war and the economy tanks. I hope this selfish, sick, power-hungry nation goes down.:X:$ No, I really think this election was stolen, as predicted. Diebold pulled through for the pres. Don't tell me millions of new voters came out to vote to keep him IN! That makes no sense whatsoever. Something is very fishy.
I hate to harp on it, but I blame religion a lot for this. We are going backwards, like Kerry said on the end of daylight savings time- "Turn your clocks back an hour tonight, elect Bush and turn them back 30 yrs." The few people I know who voted for Bush did so on religious grounds. Man, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I think the election was rigged though, definitely. I'm beyond sad.
Please tell us how the election was rigged. Honestly, I didn't vote for Bush either, but Christ people, both parties, hell ALL parties can get out and get people to register. Kerry is stupid to loose to Bush, the whole time he never really layed out his plan for anything, and people would rather know what they are getting, even if it sucks like with Bush, then having someone with no convictions. Demographics change, people grow up, their views shift, a whole array of things have been played out.
I agree with the fact that I am ill, I do not want to go to work today after being attacked yesterday in my place of business. Now I will have to go in there and have them slap me in the face. And it only sucks because they are uneducated overpriveledged idiots. Second, I agree that Dean should have been the one running. I never liked Kerry from the beginning and most people here who know me know that. I don't know why the Democratic party didn't take into consideration what the Republican party would do to Kerry. They should have looked into his past and seen what mud could have been slung. I didn't know much about Dean to begin with and I couldn't have helped him in the primaries anyway because I'm Green, but I think he could have done better than Kerry in this election. Third, I believe that religion played a huge role in this election. That makes me sick even more than I am. Honestly, I don't know what is wrong with people. I try to be diplomatic and say that people are entitled to their opinions about things, and no one is really right or wrong, but the truth is no matter how much I sugarcoat it for people the religious right is wrong. There is no way around it. Now I'm scared. I'm afraid that abortion will no longer be an option. It is not an option for me to have a child and yes I am on the strongest form of birth control possible. I cannot physically become pregnant or I will die. People don't think about these things when spouting off their religious diatribe. Also, I'm afraid that what is left of our rights will be stripped from us even more than have been already. I'm sad for the gay community who has been and will continue to be bashed on a political level and prevented from having the rights of the rest of the country. Again I don't know what is wrong with America. There is no other country in the world who likes Bush or thinks that he is a good leader. I just don't understand how we can have a nation full or at least half full of such idiots that they don't see this. And yeah before you assholes can even form the thought, I've already strongly considered leaving this country. I shouldn't have to, but I don't think I can live with this and I don't know if there really is anything we can do about it. My options are live elsewhere or live in prision for trying to change something that is obviously set in stone and cannot be corrected. I think I'd be happier elsewhere. Now, I just need some money.
im seriously getting a group together of 10 to 20 definates that will go to canada... the plan is... a four to five bedroom so it WILL be tight at first. but that's just a starting point. once people get jobs, meet people, etc... they can and will move out... maybe not all, but some. it'll become more comfortable. but it will help A LOT with money in the beginning..... i only have 3 definates right now and a BUNCH of maybes.... if you want to talk about it, feel free to PM me.
I agree totally. I am sick to my stomach, my heart and my entire self. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THE PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY???? My dh says people are so afraid of change, but I wonder how much redistricting and Diebolt had to do with it. Bush-FUCKSHITSUCKCOCKASSHOLEFASE is ahead in NEW MEXICO????? No fuckin way. Don't blame Kerry. Blame the evil Right Wing contingent and their lies lies lies and lies. I HATE THEM. I HATE THEM. I HATE THEM.
i'd never, EVER considered leaving this country before, but i really am now. i'll likely wait until the next presidential election, but if the republican control of the senate and house continues to grow, and we have another president who refuses to get with the times, i definitely see it in my future. and that is messed up. i've always loved this country. what the hell happened...
My state is yet to concede, but it's looking like Bush. Iowans are idiots. Americans are going to watch this place go down the tubes in the next 4 years, and it's going to be their own fault. It's just that Americans were simply too afraid to vote for the better educated man, and they weren't buying the whole "get the world involved" thing. Most Americans don't want the world involved (and ofcourse, Bush and his private interest buddy Halliburton certainly don't want other parties moving in on their share). They want to be Jethro in a giant metaphorical truck with a confederate flag on the back, tearing through any country it damned well pleases. And, the saddest part is that Americans act like statistics lie or something. The Bureau of Labor Statistics, when it said we lost 1,000,000+ jobs wasn't just kidding around folks. They don't produce this stuff for shits and grins. It's ironic that so many poor people voted for Bush, or supported him (I can't say for sure that they voted at all). He didn't give them tax breaks, and he lost them a lot of their jobs. People are just too politically inept these days. They don't even check to see what size is the rod that's screwing them. I suspect most of the country voted for purely partisan reasons because they're too moronic to know any better. "He's Bush, I mean,...he's Bush". That's pretty much the argument I got a lot of the time. "How is Bush gaining anything from going into Iraq?" I get that a lot, too. People simply don't know jack about their own country or their president's involvement. Dick Cheney's Halliburton stood to hold 73M in gain from subsidaries, as well as another 15M in single-tie contracts alone. Take another look around. Bush doesn't care to bring freedom to countries where people are being abused by tyrants. If our cars didn't run on oil, and his buddies didn't stand to invest in a "new Iraq", we'd never had been there. Like Greg Proops so well put this, "If our cars ran on spicey cabbage we'd be in North Korea right now". Iraq was in no way an immediate threat. Sure, Saddam violated U.N. resolutions on inspection, but that in no way made him an immediate threat, nor did the president use this as justification for war until we didn't find any weapons that Saddam supposedly had. You don't go to war pre-emptively without first exhausting all your country's investigative powers, and this certainly wasn't done. Oh, sure, we started 'investigating' a year after we were already in Iraq. Great idea! I'm thinking about moving to Canada(I was thinking about it before this), but you're really supposed to stand by your country in times like this, and ride it out. I'm not so sure that there's really anything loveable about this country, though. It's an evangelical petri dish of ignorance, apathy and sheer stupidity. I'm starting to really hate these people. My father, the former Washington university professor voted for Kerry. Wonder why? My mom, the idiot manic-depressive who now lives off of a cab driver she married just after divorcing my dad because she can't survive on her own voted for Bush, as did her husband, a man, I might add, who has a giant confederate flag hanging in his living room. These latter people are our "brethren", do you realize this? We have to live near brainless trash like this everyday. If it weren't a violation of the constitution, I'd believe we should come up with a poll test, before you can vote. Maybe 30 questions for each candidate on his proposed ideas. If you can't identify his goals and plans on key issues, you aren't allowed to vote. This would weed out idiots, as well as people voting for purely partisan reasons who are less-than-well educated on their candidates issues and are simply voting because he's that certain candidate. But, alas, Jim-bob and Mary (about 60 percent of the country, apparently) still have rights to their vote. You can be a rich, well-to-do Republican and still be Jim-Bob. Don't be fooled by his B.M.W., he still has no idea why he's voting. And ofcourse, Republicans read Ann Coulter, and O'Reilly, and Savage and think they have an argument, and a firm-grasp on the issues. They have shallow talking points, key, worthless, mindless talking points. And Mr.Liberal here, don't act like you're any different by reading "America" and watching the Daily Show and voting for Kerry because he's a Democrat. People like you shouldn't have a vote either. Sometimes I get very angry and dissapointed in 'my' people. You have to be somewhere in between. You have to really want to know the issues, and you have to want the best man to win, not simply the man from your party. I think Liberals and Conservatives alike make that same mistake. They get so wrapped up in party labels, and throwing mud at each other, that they don't even take time to look at the other man, or his issues, or to look at any of the issues of the debate on either side. This is purely partisan politics, and it is ruining our country. I'm done. I think I'll go watch another wasted 3 hours of news coverage before they announce G. Dubya's win, and before I have to watch the mindless drones wave their cowboy hats in the air.
i woke up feeling ill, i didn't know the results yet. now i'm just angry. its not over. we need to not give up yet. FUCK THESE SCARED CHRISTIAN SHEEP THAT BUSH TAPPED INTO FUCK THEM!!!
WHAT HAPPENED? YOU GREW UP AND BECAME MORE AWARE. THIS MENTALITY IS NOT ISOLATED TO AMERICA...IT IS JUST CONCENTRATED HERE, AND GUESS WHAT? IF YOU LEAVE IT WILL JUST BE MORE CONCENTRATED AND SPREAD TO FIND YOU. and supernova i'm really telling myself this cause i have the same thoughts. i think whatever happens in the next two weeks or four years, we need to see how our government has gotten away from us...and realize we alowed it. now we need to not buy into their materialistic rat race and keep time aside to pay attention and take action...amaze the world with a grass roots movement. thats whether kerry wins or not.
And FUCK the conscience voters, too. They are worse. At least the Christian Sheep didnt' KNOW BETTER.
