Has anybody here been to Boom festival in Portugal? I just heard about it yesterday and I have been looking into it The festival sounds so amazing! I would like to try and go within the next five years or so. I am wondering, does anybody have any personal experiences to share? I would like to earn more about this festival
Yeah, Boom sounds really great. Also google Sunburn in Goa. If I were your age or somewhere close I'd give serious consideration to saving a few $1000 and making it to a few months of festivals. Once you get to one, others will open up. The problem with Europe is it's pretty expensive even staying in hostels. I have no idea of the camping possibilities there. India very cheap, but it's a hassle & hustle just getting around. But Goa is still a scene. And what is youth for, if not making a scene?
Isn't that an amazing thought? From just about anywhere you can get to Europe or India for around $1000 RT. I don't know what the daily cost of Europe is, maybe $40 or $50 USD? for 1 person, cheaper per person when 2 travel together. In India you can make it on $20/day (travel by bus and boat and train). Plenty of hip scenes and there are situations where daily costs are less.
I'm planing on going next year to Boom, basically it's a psytrance festival that is held for 7 days, last year there were around 40k ppl in there. it is done every 2 years, 2008 was the last one 2010 the next one. What can I say the biggest names of the Psytrance world scene play there of the friends of mine that had go they all tell me it is an incredible experience if you are psytrance lover, ppl from all around the glove go there. last year it won the award for the greenest festival, they implement a lot of permaculture and eco-friendly facilities, also has a chill out area and a alternative area called the groovy beach, where they have reggae, house, techno and other, plus conferences, art, etc etc you can fin more info at boomfestival.org look for videos at you tube and google video, they release an offcial DVD of the festival for each of the festivals, this years was a bit different focusing more on the people and the festival it self than the party, also a lot of albums on flickr.
I was recently at a large pstrance festival in canada and spoke with a person who has had alot of experience in the psytrance festival scene. He told me that boom was by far the most amazing festival of any he had been to. I plan to quest over there (portugal) for the one next year
