So I've been toying with the idea of getting my nose pierced for a while, but I have a stuffy nose pretty much all year round due to allergies. Would it be a bad idea to get my nose pierced with said allergies? I just assume it would get infected or something like that, but I want to check and see what others have to say.

haha thanks. What about constant nose blowing though? I read that could irritate it for a few weeks after it's first pierced.

if it's constant then yeah, i'm sure it's going to irritate it. imagine an ear piercing constantly being rubbed and pulled at.

yeah well, it will hurt too much at first to blow your nose. q-tips work alright for soaking up snot, or bits of tp... just figure out what works for you. if theres a time of year when your allergies are milder, thats the time to pierce your nose.
you do want to keep nose blowing to a minimum until its healed (couple of months).

Im curious as to if you got it done or not. I had mine done and had to take it out for a nanny job. Then I got it done again (on the opposite side) and my body rejected it. So.. no nose piercing for me. :(

maybe you should try a nasallang too.... since its a bar that goes completely through your nose it would be pretty hard for the body to reject.. if you get a barbell it will just look double nostril piercings.

Rubbing lip balm around the inside of your nostrils can help a lot with irritation from things being inhaled up your nose.

I used to have a runny nose all the time, and had to blow my nose several times every single day. It was always worst in cities, and was really annoying not being able to walk anywhere without my nose streaming. When I was complaining to a friend about it she said just make sure you always breathe through your nose. I really didn't see how that would help at all, given that my nose was the problem. I tried anyway....it was quite hard at first coz often if your nose is really running you tend to breathe through you mouth. Well the problem was pretty much completely fixed immediately, with the exception of very bad hayfever days or colds obviously.

So yeh... not really sure why it helped or if it would help you, but just thought I'd mention it :)

My only issue is getting dried snot stuck on the jewlering on the inside. Which you have to pick or soak off. It is so worth it though in my opinion

    I have horrible allergies.
    In fact.
When i got my nose pierced. I got a sinus infection.
    :D
    But it's healed now.

The piercing doesn't do anything to it.

Ok, got it done about 2 months ago. It got a really annoying red bump for a few weeks and I tried hot compresses, Dial soap, and sea salt but none worked individually. Then one day I basically attacked it with green tea bags soaked in salt water and hot compresses for about an hour straight and it went away almost immediately.
My allergies don't bother it at all!
