My first internet identity was on some MIRC chat/role playing forum some 14 years ago. I created a character based on the Narn from Babylon5, called Kr'Nath. That's all it was, just me having fun talking to people from around the world on a computer for the first time. No avatar, no signature, just a name and some patter, maybe a bit of cybering to see if I liked it.
I started out so long ago with CompuServe that there were no names, just six-digit account numbers. No shit!
oh geez... lemme think... it was an AOL name... probably something like mmr76... i don't really remember... i had so many in the first year of being online.
I think mine was JPeshie, on AIM. My friends made up the nickname "Pesci" for me from Joe Pesci (My initials are JPB; my first name Joseph. A friend made the connection between the JP and thought it was Joe Pesci - he was wrong, but it stuck). I didn't know how to spell his last name, so I just spelled it my way.
something like elmogrl2000. but it wasn't in 2000, it was in like 1995. I think was trying to be futuristic or something
I simply used my first name Matt when I first started coming to these forums back in 1999. Back then there was only like three forums and you didn't even need a password to post. I was pissing a lot of people off, who then started using my name to post defamatory things about other people. This is one of the things that caused the switch to proper forums in 2001. Ever since 2000-2001, I have been using Pressed_Rat as my screen name. The current forum was established in May of '04.
