i actually just got back from mexico. and i'm kind of scared that i got it. but i have a flu shot, so i think that would lessen the symptoms if i had it. could that article be more set up to generate fear?
To be honest, if my world was really mine, i would have closed down any means of coming in or out of the country of infection (this being mexico), atleast until things cool off. Almost every case in other countries has been from someone who recently came back from mexico... wtf??? why not just stop it
One of the things that you have to think about in regards to this is that pigs are very close to human in a lot of ways. We use a lot of pig parts in human organ repair like heart valves. Not to mention that the medical community uses pigs alot to test products and procedures. We have had 5 confirmed cases here in Chicago now and they closed three schools. They also canceled the annual Cinco de Mayo festival we have here in Chicago. This could be nuts.
Im in Texas...life feels pretty normal which makes me more nervous than if people were doing stuff about it
Because they use animals to create new strains, goto www.infowars.com or www.prisonplanet.com Lots of info Peace Dan
im scared that everyone here seems to be brainwashed by the bullshitting media. I think so far CNN has given the most practical, real information and not the ZOMG WEZ R ALL DED!!! shit you see everywhere else. all of you need to chill. theres even a case in mississauga but i aint panicking. i mean it sucks if i got it but the chances are qu
Oh god CNN sucks at everything, the BBC is far better. But 4,500 cases in around 10 days of a new and powerful flu is something to be concerned about greatly.
why though?? it is estimaterdd that since this outbreak 250+ in the US have died from Influenza A and there has only been 8 confirmed deaths and 265 CONFIRMED cases
Confirmed, it takes time to do this, they don't test every single person, it's not flu season, tons of people coming down with the flu where confirmed cases of swine flu are statistically are going to be swine flu. Like the hundreds of kids in NYC that all of a sudden came down with the flu after being around kids from a Catholic school that are confirmed swine flu and were in Mexico, it's safe to say those hundreds of kids do in fact have swine flu
OK, I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. I've been trying to 'sleep off' my sickness, which is getting progressively worse.
Oh great Edit: does anyone have any information as to what the swine flu symptoms are? just regular flu symptoms?
just regular flu symptoms, only different. whats more scary to me is the contagiousness. the other day i read "14 cases in New Zealand, with 13 of those students recently returned from a trip to mexico." thats freaky, because that means people are more exposed. and flu is contagious before you have symptoms. it does seem serious even when you look into it yourself. makes me want to reread The Stand. it hasn't been that long, but its such a good read. I met Gary Sinise once too, he seemed like a cool guy.
This is totally making me think of The Stand. It started a lot like this. But anyway....... It's a fact that worldwide 36,000 people die from "the flu", the plain old regular flu, every year. That's 3000 people a month. The 200 or so who have died with this one are just part of that statistic. I will say their deaths are sad and that I don't wish it on anyone but please keep it in mind that people get sick and die everyday. Just because the media needed something new to talk about everyone is getting all worked up. Yes, I agree it is dangerous, if you are sick or get sick, it's not going to hurt to go see a doctor. They will test you and give you drugs to help fight it off. All that being said it is always possible for an epidemic but keep in mind that most of the illnesses that caused epidemics in the past were compounded by unsanitary conditions. Most of the world has better conditions now. In a weird kind of way these type of things need to happen once in a while. It's mother natures way of saying she is still boss.
