The night I was with my crush at the airport in his car, drunk, with the light revolving to the beat of Purple Haze.

right on man, thats another one i loved that song as a kid haha... that inspired me more musically towards guitar when i was younger, what a cool jam also i used to love for what its worth by bufallo springfield with stephen stills and neil young, ill throw up the words to that jam There's somethin' happenin' here. What it is ain't exactly clear. There's a man with a gun over there A-tellin' me I've got to beware. I think it's time we stop. Children, what's that sound? Everybody look what's goin' down. There's battle lines bein' drawn. Nobody's right if everybody's wrong. Young people speakin' their minds A-gettin' so much resistance from behind. I think it's time we stop. Hey, what's that sound? Everybody look what's goin' down. What a field day for the heat. A thousand people in the street Singin' songs and a-carryin' signs Mostly sayin' hooray for our side. It's time we stop. Hey, what's that sound? Everybody look what's goin' down. Paranoia strikes deep. Into your life it will creep. It starts when you're always afraid. Step out of line, the men come and take you away. You better stop. Hey, what's that sound? Everybody look what's goin'.. You better stop. Hey, what's that sound? Everybody look what's goin'.. You better stop. Now, what's that sound? Everybody look what's goin'.. You better stop. Children, what's that sound? Everybody look what's goin'..
It's a bit difficult to narrow it down to a single song. Way too many anthems back then. Ones that did influence my "descent" into the bowels of evil hippiedom... Mr. Tambourine Man-Byrds Somebody to Love-Jefferson Airplane My Generation-The Who Born to be Wild-Steppenwolf What really did it were Bob Dylan and The Beatles. Zen
Imagine, 8 miles high, for what its worth you guys said what I was thinkin. those songs and so many others and good shrooms. I feel I relate to the hippie life and mind set even though I was 6 in 1969. Growing up at the beach back then you were either a hippie or a hippie surfer. Now I surf snow and listen to Jack Johnson with my 3 yr old with our tie dye shirts on.Peace
Alice's restaurant! Live at the Newport Folk Festival. That was the first time I smoked pot, some hippie passed me a joint rolled in a american flag paper. I did not know at that time what it was, so I asked him and he said "just smoke it". Also Ten Years After "I'm going home" Dan
Well when i was in 10th grade i had to do a research paper with the theme of "the power of friendship" or something. In the essay we had to use sources from different types of media. I was searching for a song to use, and came across With a littl help from my friends by the beatles. i'd never really listened to them before, but i fell in love with that song and with the band, and it was all downhill from there
i didn't make the connection quite like that but one of the first songs i remember feeling strongly about was "imagine."
probably closest thing to it would be driving along with my brother in high school listening to the radio.we usually listened to top 40 tunes.there were alot of good ones though, the beach boys were on alot as i remember.well anyway we were rolling around turn on the radio and it was dylan's desolation row.we were both thinking about how great that tune was.
Not sure, was a long time ago. Really have to jump start my mind for that. There are to many songs that made me think that I may be a hippie. So some of the music Country Joe And the Fish - Electric Music for the Mind and Body Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced and believe it or not my favorite Frank Zappa - Freak Out Soooooo many good songs and disks.
