Brocktoon is now prepared to Call a Winner.
Congrats to George Bush and the Republican Party for winning the Electoral College, The Popular Vote and the 'House' (USA's Parliamentary Majority).

The legal wrangling over details and nonsense will probably go on for a while but realistically George Bush is the President of the USA.

    Cheers!

Yup, Bush won. Kerry camp is trying to bank on Ohios provisional votes to win the state. Of course, even if he does win the state and it comes out to be a tie Rebublicans run the house over the democrates. So again, Bush wins.

Depends on Iowa and New Mexico too. If Kerry gets Ohio and those, he has it in the bag. It is unlikely, however.

With 20 electoral votes all Kerry would need is Ohio actually.

    How likely is that, though?

Kerry will not win Ohio. He would need at least 93% of the provisional ballots. It's statistically impossible.

What were you americans thinking?! 4 more years of Bush! that man is the worst president of the last 80 years. He has no respect for the environment, his foreign policy is a disaster, and the gap between the pour and the rich is getting bigger and bigger because of him. How could he get more votes than kerry???

Bush won because in the end Kerry didn't lay out any real plan for change. He was too busy changing his mind and trying to convince himself that he had a position. I didn't vote for him because of his serious Ted Kennedy connection, and frankly, any Kennedy not worth assassinating is scary - nothing good could have come from a Kerry presidency at this point.
Some of Kerry's ideas are good, for him to become president he needs a stronger history. Since he can't re-write his own past, he probably won't get any closer than this.
But to say that people are brainwashed religious right and southern hicks because they didn't vote for Kerry is a bit unfair. I'm a registered Dem. definitely not religious right and most certainly don't have any gun racks. :)

I once heard ... "If you're young and republican you don't have heart, if you're old and democrat you don't have a brain."

I guess I'm another brainless democrat, I don't know... I just know that Kerry, from the very beginning was too much of a coat tail riding, ultra-rich, but mostly unclear candidate for me to get behind. The Dems need to get someone with some oomph as a candidate next election. Gore was too passive, Kerry's too corruptible... Just my opinion.

Im honestly surprised Kerry did as well as Gore did.
How did either of them come so close??

Then again, i have this ususual feeling that America is a little smarter than we assume...
.. Once again they have elected Bush .. BUT... with a stern warning they intend to be very very vigilant.
In this case Bush has a 'Mandate' ... BUT... its comes with a very stern 'Warning' from the public.

Unfortunately the Public had to use Kerry as a 'warning device' but its still all healthy and good.

Bush won more popular votes than any Presidential Candidate in History.
(mind you population kinda dictates that eventually hehe)
