Ive been feeling the same way for awhile, I mean think about where the world is headed, nobody see's the true meaning anymore! I think everybody on hippyland should get together and start a Revolution!
Start by changing yourself - not trying to change others. Be the best person you can be... sell everything you own and give all your money to the poor. help feed the poor. help the elderly. be an example.
maps.org is working to get medical research of LSD and shrooms. Once these are utilized more freely in society, we'll have a lot less depression and many more enlightened citizens. Just stay as positive for as long as possible and pass that vibe on to as many people as possible. Keep all the negative vibes to yourself. If we shared negativity less, it would eventually go away as no one would talk about it. Good luck friends. Remember, change happens one person at a time one day at a time. Never give up...when you're positive, it will eventually come back to you when you need it most.
I bet the peace corps is really cool. Part of me always wanted to join them. I do other volunteer work here in the USA there is a lot of need here in the homeland. I love the Red Cross. They helped me once when I was in a flood. They were fantastic! I have been taking courses with them. I feel very honored to learn with them. I highly recommend the Red Cross to anyone who wishes to be a professional humanitarian.
A solid and sound revolution/rebellion can only thrive on the lush soil os sound strategy. read the Black Iron Prison for mental tactics. http://www.principiadiscordia.com/bip/1.php And read Sun Tzu's "The Art of War". by the way, dont let that put a sour taste in your mouth if your a pacifist. The material is very useful to anyone acting. for example, you tell me this aint useful. "Keep your plans as dark to the enemy, and strike like a lightning bolt" "Regard your soldiers as your children, and they will follow you into the deepest valleys; look upon them as your own beloved sons, and they will stand by you even unto death. If, however, you are indulgent, but unable to make your authority felt; kind-hearted, but unable to enforce your commands; and incapable, moreover, of quelling disorder: then your soldiers must be likened to spoilt children; they are useless for any practical purpose." "Maneuvering with an army is advantageous; with an undisciplined multitude, most dangerous."
Action without strategy, is action without strength. Water cannot desimate a sand castle if it is not focused or gathered. However, water formed into a wave can knock even a human off his feet.
i wanted to save the world when i was young and niave.i became a psychology, world religion, and art student.i soon realized you can't save the world from it's self.some don't even want that.you can improve yourself and the lives of of those around you.be your best and do what you can.every kind act sends a little positive energy out.only Jesus Christ can save humanity at this point.put your faith and trust there and hold on tight.you'll be in for the ride of your life.
I hear about revolution - tearing down the system. You don't have to tear down the system - just starve it to death by not feeding it. don't get credit cards, don't have checking accounts, don't buy stuff. Learn to make things, follow the DIY and maker movements. Grow your own stuff. Remake, repurpose and reuse stuff. Buy stuff at thrift stores, yard sales, pick up stuff from the 'trash'. Trade and barter with people you know. (example:instead of paying a oilchange chain pay your neighbor to do it instead). The key to making the world better is to restore what the system and the govt have taken away - community. Concentrate on local trade, people working with other people and relying on others and themselves instead of the government and corporations. I get freaked out when I see 'hippy' businesses that run off the same corporate models as the system. You can't be free to love and share if you play by the system's rules and count profits. peace and love Haint and littia
true point! I agree! i'd really love to be selfsufficient and i certainly think that is the way to go: small communities of trade and organic agriculture. And maybe money cán work, but money has to work for us, not the other way 'round. problem is theres too many people on small patches of ground, for instance in big cities. Thats when the problems start. individualism has gone too far and now we only care about ourselves. Healing the world can be done by seing that we all are one, one people, on essence of energy and matter.
The tide is changing and even 'non-hippies' are starting to see that this is the way we have to go. Here's a link to a article about Doug Rushkoff's book and movie 'Life, Inc.' - he does a good job of explaining how things got this way and how we can change our thinking(programming) for a more caring society. http://www.boingboing.net/2009/05/13/life-inc---an-extra.html peace and love haint and littia
I would love to change the world, make it a better place for all. Not some intoxicated dumpster we are leaving for my generation, the younger one, to clean up. I would love for a global action to take place. Hmm, we need an ideal world.
i think we should all meet somewhere. and have a Be In like in San Francisco in the summer of love. but we should have it somewhere else. and we should fight for peace everywhere.
yeah that sounds allright! but shouldnt it be like in all kinds of places at the same time? cos I live in Europe and I cant just take off and go to america maybe we can all host something like a Be In and all different countries and kinda have it like interlinked. maybe it ll help global consciousness
