I'm going to The Dead show tomorrow night in Hartford and I was hoping to be able to find some stuff there. I'm afraid of buying something off of an undercover cop, though. if you ask a cop if he's a cop do they have to say yes? unless i see them sell to someone else first i prolly will just stick to the stuff that i'm going to be bringing

    any thoughts/suggestions on the subject?

    im just saying.
    be very careful.
and makesure it looks like someone u could trust
and always try before you buy.
its very easy to hand u a sheet of paper and say
"hey man 200 dollers for a sheet"
then u go home and theres not a damn thing on the sheet.
    very easy to get scandaled.
make sure u poke around, and at the end is always a good time
cause everyones trying to get rid everything before they go home.
    just watch it man.

It's a good show. You're going to enjoy it, man. I was at the DC concert. You won't have any problem finding anything. The dealers will probably find you before you find them and I assure you that someone sitting around you during the show WILL have something, WILL smoke something, and WILL share with you.

Just use common sense. Look for someone that looks like a cop. Look for cell phones/walkie-talkies (I just realized how funny that word is lmao) on their belt - avoid anyone with a buzz cut. I can almost guarantee someone selling something with short/buzzed hair will be undercover - dreadys are your friends.

Notice personal hygiene. If someone approaches you, look for details like fingernail dirt, beard growth, split ends on hair, condition of clothing, colognes or perfumes, tooth decay and other markers that might distinguish the cop from the common man.

Look for identifying marks the officer may have forgotten to cover or get ride of. Belts, badges, hats, shoes, rings, watches and jewelry are common indicators.

Beware of the tea shades. Large, dark sunglasses are often what cops use to profile suspects; the same works in reverse. An undercover agent will not want active eyes to be noticed by suspects.

    Look into there eyes.
If there pupils as big as a saucer.
    Then your set.

alot of time you can tell whos there for the music
and you can tell whos there working.

damn, i had already left before you guys posted. i didn't buy anything there except beer because i just didn't want to risk it. i brought a lot of weed and got some whippets so i was stoned as fuck walking around the lot and people passing could tell i was high and would be like "xanax" or "mushrooms" when they walked by lol i thought that was cool. lots of people with coolers selling beer so i grabbed a few and did some drinking. it was a good time, wish i had had something to trip on but that's ok, I've always got the phish concert in June

Be careful of kids who are working with the cops for various reasons (they made a deal with them to reduce drug charges, etc). Nine times out of ten, you will be fine, but there's not really a set method of telling who the narcs are/aren't. Unless they are also partaking. ;)

from my personal experience, you dont really have to worry a whole lot about cops...more about getting ripped off. i mean, all these dealers are gonna be people that you don't know, they don't know you, but they do know they're never gonna see you again. some people i know follow this rule of thumb at shows: only buy shrooms or weed, 'cause then you can tell it's real.

Okay a lot of people here have given you helpful info, BUT, some of it is misleading.

1st: There ARE dready cops, exactly why my friend is in prison.
2nd: You wait for someone to pitch to you, sample the product and purchase.
3rd: A COP WOULD NOT SELL TO YOU COME ON NOW
-A cop is trying to find someone to sell HIM something...

and finally use common sense and enjoy the show :)

By the way openly talking about how the shows have drugs is kind of
killing our culture, we dont need every local townie knowing this so
they can go rip off people trying to enjoy a show...
it's better off if just 'we' know whats going on there, safer for everyone

And if you don't know, now you know, friend :)
