Peace Corps?

So for a while, a few years now, I've thought of joining the Peace Corps. I always thought it would be something I'd be really proud to look on and say I once did. Has anyone else had this interest and has been, is or plans on joining?

Yeah, and I haven't finished my degree yet, which I'm not sure if I want to finish. I really want to join an organization similar to the Peace Corps that's really about helping that I could devote my time to, but I don't know of any.

 

A degree in what ?

 

Well, two degrees. Liberal Arts and Communication Arts

 

i didn't say they only take smart people to be mean.. it's the truth! thats why i never joined.. joey knows what i'm talking about...

 

i got a current application on file...still working on it. not sure if i want to commit yet.

If I had my degrees I would apply right now, but I don't and am not sure if I intend on finishing. I might have to do some extensive research on different organizations....err..

 

I know ... but you have to admit it sort of sounded that way

Liberal arts & Comm. while good studies ... my feeling that something like Agriculture might be a bit more in line

 

i have thought about it and my advisor at my college thinks it would be great for me but im not really sure they would take me...i may apply after i finish college but thats probably about 3 more years at the rate i keep switchin what im doin

 

i know.. i'm horrible at being all nice and shit...

good luck getting in the peace corps... we need more nice positive people on this planet.

 

I would not join at this time. Obama has sought to triple the size of the Peace Corps and he already has with the Americorps, which I see being used as part of domestic, "national security" operations in the coming years as the US becomes more like Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia.

We get this kinda threads here all the time. It seems like a lot of HF people want to join....How lovely.

 

I've never wanted to join. More power to the people that do.

 

they take into consideration life experiences, not just college. they look at the whole package.

 

I hate the peace corps almost as much as I hate people who join the peace corps.
