This actually does not surprise me tho. Human beings are cruel.

Aside from some tests, the "bat-bomb" was never actually used during the war. They also did tests with pigeon guided bombs (bombs with pigeons inside, that pecked at a screen that guided the bomb to a target). The Russians did use anti-tank dog mines (dogs trained to go under tanks with bombs strapped on them, that then explode and disable Nazi tanks).

 

world war 1 change everything.
it was the first total war. it ended the concept of non-combatants, for both of, ALL humans and ALL animals.
every living thing is now a combatant.
world war 1 also made possible for the first time, war with out end and total slaughter.

horrible? sick? it is worst then that! the only thing i can say is... welcome to the modern world!

 

Doesn't sound more horrible than all those millions of horses that have died painful deaths in our wars for centuries to me.

Just Take A Few Seconds To Appreciate The Hundreds Of Thousands Of

Men And Teenagers Who's Lives Were Sacrificed, So You And Your

Country Could Be Free.

And Your'e Concerned About A Few Bats....F.F.S.???..

In Australia Bats Are Nothing More Than Vermin, That Carry All Sorts

Of Serious Diseases.

And In Some Cities, They Have Programs To Either Move Them On

Or Eradicate Them.

War in general just sickens me. I have often cried at documentaries or news reports on tv. Not many people know how animals were used during war...I know I didn't before reading about this post...so its good that people will start to think about that as well as the cost in human life.

It was desperate times. It was War. Nobody cared about the bats. And tbh, if I was going to lose my life, or if I'd just seem my mate next to me blown to pieces, I dont think I would care either. And this is coming from a strict vegetarian and animal lover. You have to think about the times in which it happened. During a world war.

 

WHY was the war necciary? it wasnt. most of the people fighting on both sides of the war didnt want to! they were forced! by a handfull of people that have "power" over them. because people are stupid enough to believ it. and then they go kill each other, and inoccent people, and inoccent animals, who have done nothing and want nothing but to live their lifes without the fear that some idiots are gona kill each other and every one in between them.

 

I read a few weeks ago, they did the same kind of thing with dogs. they would train dogs to find food under the enemies tanks, and then starve them. after a couple of days, they'd strap bombs to the dogs, and send them out to the enimes tanks. it's a horrible thing, but i sort of agree with WarInTheBabylon. and with what sobebella said, they were "fighting for our freedom" but what is freedom if you have no choice..

 

sure they were fighting for freedom, but that doesnt give us reason to use animals to kill our enemys. we wouldnt even use our enemys to kill our enemys, so what the fuck? we wouldnt use our enemys as human shields, or strap bombs to them and drop them out of airplanes or anything, we wouldnt do these things to our worst enemys who we try to kill any other way, and after theyve tryed to kill us and take our freedom, but animals you can do with what ever you want in war.

 

Thank god we became more technically advanced:

 

everything about war sickens me... we should not be arguing with eachother about it thou its the government...its the government who actually killed all the animals, who killed all the "enemies" (according to the gov. they wernt my enemies hell i dont even know their names lol) and it was the gov. who you should blame for all of our fallin american soldiers its the gov. who i blame for taking my bestfriend and its the gov. i blame for taking the life of jayson
