vanilla vodka mixed in rootbeer tastes like a rootbeer float vanilla vodka in orange soda tastes like a creamsicle too sweet for me usually, too girly. but nice change of pace once in a while
i prefer a good martini. or scotch, maybe with an ice cube. or a big glass of fine beer, or a bottle of red wine.
yall need to check your manhood. i love good tasting alcohol drinks. i get pissed off when "man" drinks have to be horrible tasting drinks. i like to enjoy myself rather than have to drink rubbing alcohol flavored beverages. dont get me wrong, i like both but nothings better than being able to drink a good tasting drink and get drunk at the same time.
its not a matter of "manhood" it's a matter of appreciating quality. good quality spirits are often an acquired taste, but i prefer a drink where you can taste the character of the spirit being used over a drink designed to taste like candy or mask the flavor of the spirit. if i'm drinking vodka, which i usually don't because i dont like it straight, then i make it taste sweet or fruity or something. but good whiskies are delicious, and i'd prefer it neat or with an ice cube or splash of cold water. or perhaps a little cold sparkling water. if i'm going for a cocktail, i like old fashioneds or manhattans, where i can still taste my whiskey. if i'm drinking gin, i like it in shots or better yet in a martini, so i can still tell what my gin tastes like. etc. only if its really cheap or if its vodka do i like to mix up something all fruity or super sweet. which is why i prefer classic cocktails to frat-bar-drinks. its not a matter of being manly, i'm far from a macho man. i just like the drinks i like. thats why i dont like vodka straight. other spirits, so long as they are good quality, have a definite alcohol taste but don't taste a thing like rubbing alcohol
Nothing beats a good whiskey, for real. It is too rough for some people though, and that is where you draw the line. Vodka and gin? You must have some real tough blood in ya if you enjoy drinking either straight.
i fucking hate vodka, especially straight. but i like good gin, straight from the freezer. my all time favorite is hendrick's gin but with gin i prefer a martini. mix a little vermouth in there, it takes some of the edge off, helps tone down the dryness.
We are opposites i enjoy a nice dry gin, beefeater is nice. I still haven't found someone else who can appreciate it as much as me.
who said we're opposite? i've never had sweet gin. i love gin, its among my favorites, and i do like it dry. but if i'm drinking a lot, and i ALWAYS do when i drink gin, then i usually prefer a martini, because its not as abrasive. a well made martini sips smooth as silk, has a couple shots of gin in it, and can be downed in a surprisingly short period of time. adding that little bit of vermouth is all it takes. i couldnt drink a glass of straight gin anywhere close to as fast
