Hey everyone Well after having done acid 4 times in the last month I have really enjoyed the time being on it, and want to try and express it visually I have a room which used to be covered in about 120 posters of bands, but am getting rid of all those as I have 2 friends who will be painting whatever (literally, anything) they like on two of the walls, hopefully as abstract as possible which leaves one wall left (one of the walls is just a big window and has little to no wall around it so im not including that) For that final wall, my mate and I who are in no way artistic (i enjoy looking at abstract art, and write and perform a lot of music but cannot paint to save my life) think we would have a go at going on a trip and painting whatever came to our minds as well. Firstly we were going to attempt this on a small canvas just to see how it turns out, and if it turns out well then moving onto the large wall (keeping in mind the whole room will be empty and covered in plastic haha) Anyways, has anyone non-artistic painted with success/failure while tripping? Does anyone think it will work? Cheers, Spogne
i have not been a painter outside of gradeschool. the only arts i dove into was music. Tripping really lossens the flow up. More fluid strokes, more freedom in the brain to create as you create, less thought involved. I suck at drawing and painting, but not as much. Like anything really, practice makes perfect. When your filters are down, and the mind is truely open, you will amaze yourself. I say go for it, have fun! post a few pics!
I haven't tried painting, but I have tried drawing... And while its a def improvement over my sober drawings, its still not good. Practice sober beforehand, and once you get somewhat proficient, give it a try tripping, and I'm sure the results will be quite bueno
Create some lines with blue tape first before you trip then paint over the tape later pull the tape to see combined normal and high artwork create a new piece!
I'm not a painter but I find making spray paint paintings are very easy, fun and possible on psychedelics even when not an artist.
acid taught me how to draw and be an artists. it literally was my "art teacher". it taught me new techniques and ways to draw i never would have thought to try.
one thing we cant decide upon is a theme. is it bests to have a theme and try to draw/paint objects, or is it best to just have a free flowing/formimg painting of a lot of colours and let the patterns tell the story. i could imagine it being a lot easier to draw spontaneuity then to draw objects as such (keping in mind i cant draw to save my life)
spontaneity should always win! i am inspired by what yuo are doing...i can't wait till i can do that to a room in my house...i would also suggest (although it would be messy) splatter painting
Something abstract, easy, and really fun: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3226948#showReviews take the splash guard off, and as you squirt the paint into it, try to guide the colored chaos that spews out. At least, it was tons of fun when my cousin and I broke the guard on his and went crazy with it. But we were 8, and as such had an advantage when it comes to chaos. Still, it came out cool lookin.
we thought about just chucking paint all over the wall and going from there, but i dno, i think a theme would be a good idea but not necessarily drawing objects on the theme, just abstract shapes which represent the theme. im not sure how to explain myself haha but yea, we're looking forward to it. just thought it ask everyone if they have done something similar...
