Are you checking your mobile inbox nowadays? Political messages asking your vote or blaming the rival parties have superceded your girlfriend's much-awaited SMSs and you've no option but to read them and think—have our politicians really come of age?

The e-age seems to have influnced our leaders by storm and they're all trying to gain as much mileage as they can by opting for this New Age election.

SMSes, websites, emailers, e-videos, digital songs—you name it and they have harped on every available device to woo you—especially the young Indians.

But the pertinent question here is: Whom they're targeting at? Urban Indian—who mostly prefer to stay indoors on a voting day enjoying their favourite movie with his family—or rural masses who are yet to see a PC or a 3G-enabled cellphone?.

In the second case, won't it be better if our politicians focus on the grassroot problems in the rural India IN PERSON rather then sending SMSs? Or send their representatives to their huts and find out what ails the 80 million plus rural India?

Well, this need real courage and takes EXTRA time rather then selecting an agency and asking it to send SMSes in bulk to millions?

Choice is yours. Choose the politicians hooked to the E-Age or search for the down-to-earth ones.

    Till then, happy SMSing!
