How do you feel about Elvis? Are you a fan or not? In what ways do you think he affected pop culture? I'm doing a report on Elvis tonight for school :cheers2: Just wondering how everyone feels about the guy.
He had an affair with Dolores Fuller, who was once the girlfriend of film 'icon' and crossdresser Ed Wood. Elvis did a lot for rock music, but he was a teen icon, and his music does nothing for me. He was talented I'll give him that.
The impersonators are the best part about the Elvis legacy..I really like when I see either an asian or black Elvis..it is pretty hilarious..I once ran into Elvis in Tijuana while I was tripping on acid.
Not a fan. That pretty much sums it up. I also wasn't alive when he died. But I do remember where I was when I found out George Harrison died. And I remembered thinking the obsessed Beatles fan of the school really needed to take a chill pill, bitch was hysterical.
i feel that he did a lot for popular music. like he made it acceptable to be controversial or something.
My dad has impersonated him. I like his early music the best, because it was the most spontaneous and offensive to everyone. Especially in the 50's when he was "Elvis the pelvis". After the war he wasn't as raw.
I like his bluesy stuff. My favorite song of his is 'reconsider baby' If you dont know it, listen to it. Its fabulous. His renditions of gospel music is great too.
It didn't feel like anything, I just remember this fat kid Chris running out of his house yelling at up that Elvis just did. I remember thinking "that sucks"
i don't particularly like his music. since i'm not a fan, i don't really know much else about him. so i'm mostly indifferent.
I had a bizarre dream about him today (I have a fever of 102 degrees so it's not wholly my fault) it involved a much MUCH darker version of the show talespin, very frustrating flak guns (their targeting system made me wanna hurt someone) and propaganda about elvis in ww2.
I liked him in movies better than I liked his music, honestly. Most people probably wouldn't agree, though.
A couple of funny stories involving Elvis. When I was really little, my dad was at work, and Elvis was on TV and I pointed at the TV and said, "Daddy!" I think my dad hearing about that was truly his proudest moment. I think I'll have to be a doctor or some shit to top that pride. Haha. Also, when I was a kid, I decided to pretend that Elvis lived under our house in the crawl space, and he was responsible for all lost things. I still think about Elvis when I see that door in the floor in the coat closet.
I feel kind of the same about Elvis like I feel about Marilyn Monroe or perhaps even Arnold Schwarzenegger.
elvis had a twin brother who died at birth. elvis used to say to his momma.. "i can see aaron and he's dancing on stage with me."
