    would you pursue charges?

Heres the story. Recently this dood many of my friends and I know got released from jail.. After there was 6 local business broke into and a rash of home burglaries.. Although none of the homes belong to people I know..
3 nights ago my friend woke up at 7am to do roofing and his truck was gone, he was hesitant to report it (no inspection) but he did.. The actor was sitting in the truck in front of a police station <NO SHIT LOL.. Officer walked outside to duty when he spotted it. They detained him and found 5 crack rocks and stolen tools in the back. Some tools that havent got on the hot sheet yet, but im sure they will.
    Anyways.. LSS..
Friend says that since there is other charged pending so he wouldnt press charges for his truck.
Now Im just saying this cause it a defense theory. Actor borrowed the truck and the owner is involved in the thefts or other crimes the vehicle may have been used in?
Would you pursue charges, to cover your ass?

i would press charges on anyone who used my car without asking, if something went down while they were using my car. i'm sorry, but no one takes me down with them unless i was in on it.

if it was my total best friend and i was trying to help them not get in trouble for something i personally felt wasn't a big deal (like getting popped with a bit of weed or something) i would let it go, even though i might be considered partially liable. just cause i'm really really loyal to the people i love.

but... it ain't helping no one out when they've got rocks in their pocket and stolen shit in the truck. not that anyone's past helping, but this person obviously doesn't want to get their life together or they wouldn't be stealing a truck and carrying around rocks of crack.

thanks NTH.. for the long reply :D
This dood is really bad news, he has 2 girls at home and I mean like if hes gona steal shit for the kids to eat and stuff aiagh.. but damn. Nothing is that addictive you have to steal from people you know.. Im sorry.
Its not the greatest truck in the world but its still a truck that can get around. Now say dood did pull some robbery and got aways but the truck was found. Owner with dirt in his background has alot of explaining to do.
I tried to tell my friend your not helping this idiot by not pressing charges...

Since He Seems Hellbent On Going Back To The "Bighouse" Anyway,

What has He Got to Lose..?

    NOTHING..!!

So If Your Friend Does Press Charges, What Will Be The "Payback".

Will He Drop Around And Pour Some Petrol Through The Keyhole,

Poison His Animals, Or Just Take A "Shot" At Him...

Might Be Prudent To Just Sit Back, And Let The Bastard "Self Implode".

    Cheers Glen.

People who commit these types of acts don't have good personal boundaries. They don't respect themselves or others.

People who have addiction problems do tend to do whatever it takes to get them high. If it was me I would want to see the guy get some kind of help so that he could live among others without resorting to this type of behavior.

It is right to forgive but it is also right to seek to bring a balance to the situation.

If I get my car back with no damage I wouldnt press charges, if I knew the charges he was facing would be enough to send him BACK to jail. I know most crimes like what you describe run concurrent( depending on how often the judge gets laid ) but I just don't see any reason to add to the fiscal part of the sentence. So... yeah... that's it.

you're welcome. :) i apparently have pretty clear personal boundaries where this kind of shit is involved.

i love to help people out. it's kinda what i do. but there does come a time where allowing a person their own stupid choices is counterproductive and harmful. in no way do i or would i allow someone else's personal drama to affect my life in such a potent way. i don't care how much i love the person. everyone has to come to some sort of accountability contract with themselves. some people choose not to maintain any accountability whatsoever. it may sound mean of me, but i disregard those people as somehow not really important. like less human. because part of being a human is accepting accountability for your actions. if you can't accept that, then you are not worthy of the responsibility of being an intelligent species and must pay the price (kept in a small pen, working menial kinds of jobs that help society but are less than rewarding to yourself).

i really do feel very sorry for the poor fucks who can't figure out that they just need to own up to their decisions and take a little responsibility. but i've seen enough people in those situations who are dying from their own self-administered toxic waste. therefore, i do pity them a bit. still. it's just downright wrong and i could never condone it. pitying something doesn't make it right. evil ugly cycles of viciousness must end.

You gotta make it absolutely clear u weren't part of all the shit.
Do u want him to use u as his gimp?( obviously not).

He's gotta make it clear that u didn't give explicit consent to him to use it.
Maybe tell the pigs off the record that he nicked it, but u don't wanna prss charges cos he needs to get his act togther.Dunno depends how the dickhead behaves I think..

How much of a friend is he?Looks like a cxxt from this?

    Yo Mama is wise. (Hahahaha...awesome.)

Press charges on the dude, especially since he's just this "dude you and your friends know" instead of an actual friend. Doesn't look like this is a potential friendship you want to even look at.

Come in my house and I'll kill you.

Take my car, and yes I'm probably having your ass locked up.

I don't have time or patience for fools.
