i'm so excited! i've been desperately wanting to learn a new skill... something fun and sex and slightly exotic. i was thinking ceramics, or something artsy. then today, out of the blue, my co-worker said she's been dying to learn salsa, and has been waiting for a guy who would be willing to take classes, but she's tired of waiting. i said holy shit woman, i've been wanting to learn something new. i was thinking ceramics or yoga or a martial art. but salsa sounds like tremendous fun. i learned salsa a good number of years ago, when i was in costa rica. but i was too drunk most of the time i was there to remember it. i remember it being relatively easy, or maybe that was just all the pina coladas. either way, i'm excited. i'm going to learn something new and sexy and super cool. and i get to dance with a really cute chick. and have fun. my life is getting interesting again. i must say, i really like this turn of events.
you don't consider cooking an art? you obviously haven't tasted mine. how exactly are you defining the difference between art and skill? does it not take skill for art? (enjoyable art that is). and does it not take art to make a skill interesting? perhaps i simply do not understand the point you are making. perhaps purposefully.
*looks horrified* No, no, no HHB! Cooking is most definitely an art...especially when you factor in presentation. Course, I'm what some would consider a "sugar artist" and what I create is done with a lot of thought and planning, visualization, combining colors and effects to create something magical, something that makes you say, wow, she's good.
Salsa dancing, that would be sooo much fun! I'm sure you'll have a blast! I had thought about taking dance classes with J. We go to dance socials at least once a year and we'd love to learn some kick-ass dances to wow everybody with. He used to never want to get up and dance in front of anybody, but I roped him in. I LOVE to dance, always have. Now I think he enjoys it just as much. Plus we have so much fun! You know what else I think would be awesome to learn? Belly dancing. Yeah!
I've had girls try and sell me salsa dancing and all that. Girls who are dancers have terrific bodies. But outside of Argentina, I just think, sorry *feel* dancing when sober is a batty boy activity. ( And I don't think anywhere would let me Tango with a bottle of vodka in my hand) Ok who's gonna call me a twat next?
Well I must confess, I do have to liquor J up a bit to get him to let loose on the dance floor. Hey, whatever works.
totally. we want to go and learn, so that we can go to the regular salsa clubs around here and wow people. not only with our moves but with our sexiness. she figures it will draw guys for her, and i'm sure i can convince a lady or two to let loose a little . i'm sexy as it is... give me a couple moves to use, and i'll be unstoppable. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!! (drunken delusions, FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
i'd say i want to learn this, but i'd be lying. i'd rather simply watch this. exotic bellydancers with long wavy dark hair... we're talking complete dreamscape. lol... now look what you started hippchick!!!!!!!!!
Ah, but salsa dancing IS sexy! I think it's one of the sexiest types of dancing really! I'm sure you'll both get a lot of attention, no doubt!
Actually I'm worried about the newspapers doing a "scoop". Sort of "outing" me as a salsa dancer complete with sequined trousers. Actually there's a programme in England called Strictly Come Mincing. Or sthg like that. There was this absolutely gorgeous Russian dancer with a really fat guy who was crap but they got voted top every week. I'm ashamed to say,but I found myself watching it.First to perve at this Kristina. But I also found I was actually looking at( ok "assessing" ) the dancing. Anyway, I'm NOT confused... It was just a phase.. :blush5:
