if yo uhave a buttload of money I recommend a reflex camera... its basically a pro camera that merged with a digital one porblme is you should knowhoe to use a good camera and everything for them is expensive aside from that they are the best cameras Ive seen

i was gonna say, i too have a camera similar (if not the same) to BBAD's... and while yes, the 10mp on a point and shoot is a tad overkill (lol) it's still a really nice camera. Oh ad i prefer the type with rechargeable battery packs, not the kind that use actual AA batteries... the delay on those is horrendous. In all, i love our canon, it's about 2 years old now and is easy/fun to play around with. :)

I use a nikon d300. I have always been a nikon guy for whatever reason.. I think because i felt like i was going to break the first canon i picked up.. felt like cheap plastic compared to the solid sexiness of the nikon i was looking at.

I don't really dabble in point and shoot cameras, but when i was in school, my professors raved about the canon powershot g9. I think they have a g10 now, so the g9 may be discontinued, but yeah I heard really great things about this one.

I have a nikon D40 too!! Its 6mp, and there is the D40X that is 10mp. It is £300, but bloody good :) I'm saving to get some new lenses yay ^^ One thing about the stock lense for the D40 is that there is no digital zoom, so you're only zooming with the lense, and it isn't very far at all :( But for an all round semi professional dslr its awesome :)

Oh and I've just bought an old olympus digital camera for £40 off ebay. My sister used to have one very similar, super macro <3 and the picture quality is awesome, 5.soemthing mp but its astonashing what this little thing can do!! Its an Olympus X-705. There is also the X-710, I can't tell the difference between the two really, but it is an excellent camera!!

I'm looking into buying a new camera too and am going for a nikon. they are the best,,I am inlove with themm. I saw an amazing nikon D300 that I want so bad. It takes beautiful pictures but is kind of heavy so I'm still deciding. In most camera shops they have second hand camers for amazing prices though..it's like half the price from buying it new, thats what I'm going to do.

I have a Sony Alpha 350.... its a DSLR and definitely out of your price range... I just wanted to brag about it...lol My favorite feature is the LCD viewscreen folds out. So I can take pictures from down below and fold out the screen to see what i'm aiming at, as well with pictures from above, it folds down the other way as well! its been great of taking pictures of Yale and my dog, as they are both low to the ground, and I don't have to get right down there with them!

I know I say this every fucking time but you can get a 1/2 decent old SLR for like £30. Would I have 4 lenses if I had blown £400 on a dSLR?

    Edit....

I just had a crazy ass idea about getting a shitty old zenit or something, and some 10-a-penny 8MP digital camera and taking a screwdriver to them for epic cheapness. There is about a 5% chance of me actually doing this btw so pay no attention.
