What are the pros and cons of bar and liquid shampoo, if there is a differnce? Which do you like better?

bars last a really long time.
i ordered Knotty Boy All Purpose Shampoo bars in December, i still havent used a full bar, got one of each fragrance.
i probably have four or five more washes out of my Fresh Cut Grass bar which ive been using primarily.
think i only used the Spearmint Tingle and Patchouli Love once or twice each.
i ran out of two 16 oz bottles of DreadheadHQ liquid shampoo in like 2 months.

i haven't really tried any shampoos, solid or liquid, made specifically for dreads... but in my experience (i use a glycerin soap bar for my hair and body) it lasts lots longer than liquid shampoo. I also like the fact that my soap bar comes with absolutely no packaging to throw away:)

i have heard (read) some great stuff about Lush's line of shampoo bars, and someone else (here, i think) mentioned using plain ol' head and shoulders. So i gues it would realy just depend on what you prefer. It did take me a week to get used to using a bar of soap on my head rather than lathering up with a gel shampoo but it wasn't a huge thing, just a little something different is all:)

ya ive used Head and Shoulders once with locks.
so i dont really know if it leaves much residue or not.
i miss washing with it normally tho.

my bf used to wash his dreads with normal shampoos and yes, it left a lot of residue behind imho, though i'm not very sure how to detect that (gray gooey stuff? though that might be the lefts of his first and last wax too). i use kboy bar and i didn't like it at first much, but now i've become used to it.
after you wash your dreads, do the feel somewhat sticky  idk maybe i don't wash the shampoo out properly, though i rinse it thoroughly, at least i try o.o

Shampoo bars last longer imo.. for me anyway, cus for my DHHQ bottle shampoo to do anything for me I have to use like half a handful of the stuff, which is looads :( The Dr.B's bar, I only have to rub it in my hands twice to get my dreads all shoapy :) So I'd defo recommened the Dr.B's bar, if you don't mind that squeaky shoapy feeling when you wash it out.. I hate it >< But its like with all soap bars so meh xD
