Now as I meditate upon the spirit of mescalito. I come to a new method of preparation. I will admit my original gooey mescaline citrate a/b extractions where excellent. The newer cleaner versions lacked spirit but packed a punch. As I meditate upon mescalito I come ever closer to the ultimate technique of preparation.
Harvesting and preparing the cactus has been generally the same as regard to harvesting the dark green parts only. Thorn removal is consistent in that they are removed with minimal v cuts beneath the thorns. Recent research has led me to the reality of removing the waxy skin layer from the column before removing dark green flesh from the white inner core. This part I have never had patience for. And even though I have attempted on many occacsions. I never have finished the task. But for the purpose of making perfectly dried skin samples. You want to remove the outer waxy skin and dry in the sun flipping the skins once they begin to curl. Drying in the sun takes 2-6 days. I have a batch dried skins with the waxy skin still attached which hasn't been a big interferrence. But for athestic sakes remove the waxy skin, dry 2-6 days in the sun turning everytime they begin to curl.
Ultimately the skins are to be powdered for the most effective mescaline absorbtion. This of course is best done with an electric coffee grinder for small batches and blenders for larger volumes. They say to capsulize the powder. But I would recommend just adding powder to a small amount of drinkable liquid and get it down fast. Drinking cold water as a chaser has always been a most valuable method to getting it down.
My proposal is this. Using freshly harvested dark green cactus flesh that has been de-spined. Blend the fresh skins in a blender adding skins 1 by 1 through the opening in the top of the lid. Fill blender half full at a time and slowly cook the foam it produces in a pot over med high heat. I suggest to use the juice of fresh limes and or lemons to acidify the mescaline as it cooks. Not alot though. This creates a more stable and soluble material. This is also to improve taste. Once the foam has melted into a dark green liquid juice. Filter through a metal screen baking strainer. This will remove the waxy skin and excess cactus pulp. The resulting juice is 100% organic san pedro juice. No additives or preservitives. This can be drank as is or frozen in a zip-lock bag for storage until ready for use.
But to make the neo~shamanic ceremonial san pedro cactus powder. The juice is then poured onto a large flat bottomed glass baking dish for evaporation. The more spread out and thinner the layer, the faster rate of evaporation. Methods of drying consist of sun drying, drying in a 150 degree oven with the oven door slightly open to vent the evaporated moisture and the use of a hair dryer to speed up any final residual moisture. You will have to let it dry in the sun or outside for a day or two to harden the residue. It is very hard to dy the final residue. A brand new razor blade should always be used to scrape the residue. The residue is then allowed to finish drying at room temp. The dried residue is powdered finely in a electric coffee grinder. This will be easier to store for future use. The power to have mescalito ready for use is a invaluable commodity.
Unfortunately even though this method has come to me only recently. The chance to test this possibly utimate and proper technique has not been tested. Since I will only consume mescalito outside in nature away from any non-trippers. I am limited to only at the most once a month for a sojourn. I am confident that this will prove to be the preferred method of use for anyone. I will keep you guys posted on my future investigations.
One last thing. The dose for anyone is the length of the forearm and hand which is about 1.5 feet. From results posted to me from a journeyer of the cactus juice. He complained that 1 foot was strong but not enough. And while I at 3 feet worth of mescaline citrate felt that exacly half of my dose would be perfectly appropriate. So for those who have been led to this. Ancient recommends 1.5 ft of cactus for one full dose.
For anyone interested in using the san pedro cactus. This may be the best method for use which has been posted above. I do recommend taking the medicine early in the day since it is a very lengthy experience. Being outside in nature is pretty much a requisite for this medicine. Go to a secluded natural location where you can sit, meditate and walk around without anyone disturbing your train of thought. Always take the medicine on an empty stomach, preferably before breakfast.
During the day partake sacrament in place of breakfast. Meditating in nature without the interference of any non~tripping human being. A whole day is put aside. Leaving very early in the morning and being home by nitefall. Food can be taken but minimal sugars and only water to drink.
This guy is fucking incredible. Do you mean remove the spines first, then wash, harvest the skins, and blend. The flourcent foam is cooked in a pot until it melts into dark green cactus juice. Strain to remove the waxy skin and cactus pulp. Then evaporate the strained juice, scrape, dry and powder in a coffee grinder. I would mix the powder with only enough water as to make the powder liquid to minimize the intake. Then I would pound some cold water to thin it out in my tummy to minimize nasuaea.
This seems to be a very good idea. I've read of people who cook the juice down to tar an roll it in balls, but this would be much less messy. Nice job
