The Smiths are top class, Johnny Marr and Morrissey were a great combination if a strange one. Is Joan of Arc not just one of the best songs ever??

a band that was very talented musically and stylistically. They are very nostalgic to me, I've loved them for a long time.

I've only just started to get into the smiths. I'm a veggie, and much of the vegetarian community on the internet are wild for the smiths. So I found the smiths through vegetarianism, which is odd, since people generally find vegetarianism through the smiths. that said, I'm not too fond of the song meat is murder.

but I've pretty much fallen in love with the smiths. everyone says their music is miserable, and morrissey is often referred to in the press as the "monarch of misery" bu tI find the smiths quite uplifting.

Johnny Marr has to be one of the greatest guitarists ever. He created a style all his own. Anyone got a favorite Smith's song? I love What Difference Does It Make. First time I heard it I was hooked on the Smiths.

Right now, I really like "Bigmouth strikes again" it's a simplistic song, but it's damn good.

johnny marr is damn good, hence morrisseys solo stuff not being quite as good as his work with the smiths.

I love What Difference Does it Make from the Peel sessions.

My favorite album is probably Louder than Bombs/Hatful of Hollow, but I like all of them
