i've only heard "in the court of king crimson" and "starless, and bible black", but they are both really good albums...but in the court of king crimson is better
starless and bible black...i saw them in concert a few years back at the chicago theatre and unfortunatly andrew belews voice was fucked so it was a 95% instrumental set...but it still rocked none the less.
Humm . i only have in the court.. and Lizard... Id say that I love Lizard more.. its more weird.. dunno, i kinda like it more than itcokc.. but its still their best album, its just.. i got easily bored of it.. Lizard is more complicated, so it stays with me longer.
...Has to be one of their top tunes but I'd go for Larks Tongue In Aspic too - It's got the best of both worlds - the violins take you soaring up into the sky and the 'E uu E uu E u E u E uu E uu E u E u' bit rips your soul into a million little smidgeons and sticks em all back together again, but in the wrong order.Played extremely loud, this song can be heavier than even the heaviest of metal. But I'd say that about alot of songs - volume is everything - Frank Zappa, city of tiny lites,YES - Close to the Edge, ever heard of a band called 'no means no'? I can't get hold of em anywhere.
21st Century schizoid man is my favourite song, and the Power to believe is one of my favourite albums of them indeed.
i used to have in the court of.....i don't know what happened to it.the only album i can remember hearing.that was probably like forty years ago.it was pretty mindblowing though.
oh with that freaky picture on it... talk to the wind ... was a pretty mellow flute song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9ghKS5UxmM Said the straight man to the late man Where have you been I've been here and I've been there And I've been in between. I talk to the wind My words are all carried away I talk to the wind The wind does not hear The wind cannot hear. I'm on the outside looking inside What do I see Much confusion Disillusion All around me. You don't possess me Don't impress me Just upset my mind Can't instruct me or conduct me Just use up my time I talk to the wind My words are all carried away I talk to the wind The wind does not hear The wind cannot hear.
Two faves: Poseidon and Red Least faves: Island and Lizard Will be seeing Adrian Belew here in a few weeks though.
I follow the general opinion and go with In the Court of the Crimson King, though Red is a close second.
ISLANDS is my favorite....though Fripp didn't consider it his favorite. "Formentera Lady" and "Ladies of the Road" are simply brilliant....
