I say if you can't take criticism from random internet strangers, then having dreadlocks on your head is asking to cry yourself to sleep at night on your huge, wax stained pillow.

If you can't look to your fellow dreadheads for support and advice, who can you turn to?

That is why this forum exists: to provide support & advice on the dreadlock experience. It is not here for people to amuse themselves at the expense of others.

I agree with Luxie about the search function, plus the sticky that answers a lot of the questions that people ask. If I have a question I always look in those two places first. Those who don't are obnoxious.

    and

made me laugh so hard I peed

I dunno. I think if this site taught me anything, it was that dreadheads are more likely to be judgmental about someone else's hair than any random person in the real world. And like any subculture or religion or anything, you got people who bitch about what's 'real' or the 'right' way.

But that's not a bad lesson to learn.

I go elsewhere for my nice friendly dready community fix. :)

It wasn't always like this though....I wish we could go back to what this forum was like years ago; friendly, open minded, helpful, and supportive.

I can agree with that, but damn near every question a newly dreaded person may ask has been answered in triplicate somewhere on this forum...

And part of the dread experience is the stupid criticism we endure because of our hair/life style choice. Shouldn't we be preparing them for that aspect as well? Again, if you can't take a little ribbing from those of us who have come through this, how are you gonna survive the big, ignorant world?

Then give them a link to the info, no need to insult them.

Shouldn't we offer support and a friendly enviroment because the real world is so tough on dreadheads? We all need a place to feel safe and accepted, that is what this forum is meant to be for dreadheads.
    Read the rules....

I'm pretty sure I've never insulted anyone on this forum, but then again, some people are easily insulted. Hell, I'm insulted that you assume I insulted someone...

i wonder if the crusaders think they are going to make the world a better place by injecting such words of wisdom as 'if you can't say something nice bla bla' or 'whoever smelled it dealt it'

No, but I get your meaning... I'll try to be more sympathetic to our newly dreaded brothers and sisters, and I'll follow all the rules. Please don't be mad at me, I can't take it.
