I have had my dreads for about a week and they are looking pretty good. However, if I don't wear a band or something they look kinda weird. I have a dread that is right above my ear and it sticks out and then goes down. It prevents the rest of my dreads from going straight down so they all kinda stick out. The headbands and rubber bands are alright but they kinda get old after a while. I have made two crocheted tams but I can't wear them at school. My hair is kinda that length wear it is right on the shoulders so it doesn't hang down the back yet. My dreads are different lengths on the side so it doesn't really look right. I know that I need to just wait and I am a patient person but I was just wondering if there are any tips to wear dreadlocks that are my length. Here is a picture:
mine are similar in length to yours.. you just gotta deal with it until you can tie them all back with a band. I either wear a tam, bandana, or just let them chill out like in your photo.
if u were a chick i could tell u all kinds of ways but i doubt u want girly lloking ways to wear ur dreads
i backcombed a few days ago and i know what you mean, mine are maybe foot longer than yours though, so sticking striaght out isnt that huge of an issue for me, but they do arch out like crazy. ive been using a bandana or just tying it back in a pony tail
mine are about the same length, I would recommend wearing a hat for a few nights, maybe it will train them to lay down? As far as school goes- dunno.
I typically have a shirt sleeve on. However, I have had my dreads for about 4 weeks now. I had them re-dreaded about a week and a half ago so I don't know how to age them. I guess they are only a week and a half old. I hope by the time school starts back in August. That should give me 3 months of maturing and most likely more familiarity with the dreads.
Yeh this. You might be able to do something with a hidden hair pin to fix the one that's making the others stick out.
