i've only eaten mushies once (about 3 weeks ago) only a gram. Very small pieces, very thin. I had a good trip, nothing too crazy. My friend and I got an eighter last Friday. I was really excited to do them, we were headed to the beach with other friends until my friend (I'll call her K) began to point out how they look. We're not too shroom savvy so we both decided to wait and find out about them, lucky for me I found this forum. Our friend sold them to us and he said they are really good, he's a good friend and I trust him but my buddy K doesn't do too well with psychedelics and what not, but she has done them before. The caps are dry, sorta rough and brown. The stems are white and have a white powdery layer on them with green fungi like spots and they're wrinkly. Basically the green spots made us think about it.... We have them wrapped in a black t-shirt in a drawer, in a cool and dry home. Any advice please? Are they edible? Thanks in advance! J
damn, i dont know about those green spots. hopefully theyre not mold. assuming your shrooms are safe, the best way to eat em is to put them in your mouth and move your jaw up and down until they are pulverized into a viscous liquid that will easily slide down your gullet upon swallowing.
hahaha, well i've eaten them once before....it's just those green spots that have us wondering...::sigh::
almost impossible to tell without pictures. descriptions like that do nothing as that fits hundreds of different types of mushrooms
it was kinda hard to get to exact color of what looks like mold. it's grayish/blackish/greenish. Are they safe to eat?
only way is to try them. im sure nothing bad will happen other than maybe some nausea but im not a doctor.
yay! so safe to eat? (-_-) i be colorblind. lol i have to wait till next weekend since i'm taking a week long trip to louisiana. will they still be good to go by then?
Safe to eat! I had the same dilemma last week and found out that's just what they look like. (for some reason I was expecting pure white. lol) Keep then in a cool, dry place and they should be good to go! Have fun!
If you're not sure, take a cotton swab witha little alchohol on it and rub it on the discoloration. If the color comes off on the swab it's probably a contam, if it doesn't come off it's bruising and it's okie doke.
