I"m wondering if anyone has had any positive experiences with the Diva cup? I think it's also called a venus cup or moon cup. I've heard both good and bad things, and would appreciate some input before deciding to try it out. How do you clean it and how often? Is there a risk of infection? And if you have very heavy periods can it handle a lot of flow or would it leak?

You know, I read about these in here all the time, and no matter how many raving pussy cup reviews I hear, I still can't jump on the band wagon.

    :(

    It just seems horrifying.

I have one and I like it, how ever I have to use a pad with it when the flow is really heavy-- however if I am not too heavy they can last up to 24 hours, and in any flow they last longer then tampons. You just have to get adjusted to putting them in correctly.
    Good Luck!

Thanks I'll check out that old thread!

I agree with those of you who said you're not too sure about using it. I've been thinking about it for years and can never go through with it. However, I've recently been trying to find more ways to live a "green" lifestyle and one of the most common areas of paper waste is in toilet products like bath tissue and female hygiene products. I tried the TP made from recycled paper and it wasn't for me so now I'm thinking about the Cup as a way to cut back. I think my main concern is cleaning it. I don't exactly want to be washing something like that in my dishwasher, and I don't know how sanitized I could get it with just soap and warm water.

Hmm... well whatever I decide I will keep you girls posted. thanks for your input!
