I'm planning to do a twist and rip by the end of the week, but I was just wondering - the last time I got my hair cut (last August) it was cut really short in the back and sides and a bit longer in the front. Is this going to affect how my dreads look - like should I get the front cut to match, or should I just leave it?
no, i think it will help, my dreads in front and on top are shorter then the ones on the bottom and sides. and that was with a regular haircut. i think you will be fine
"Physically" it will make a difference, probably very minor. You wont notice it. I think you should just leave it. eace:
my hair was all the same length and now my dreads are varied in lengths, pretty drastically in some spots. course some of them are bigger than others, etc. but I'm pretty sure they'll do whatever your hair is intended to do when dreaded lol
I used to think I wanted perfect ones until I stopped maintaining as often and fell in love with all their flaws. the loops, the wisps, my one blunty end that did that trick all on it's own... it's so cool to see them evolve control is cool, but IMO crazier is better
my hair was a lil uneven in length b4 i got my dreads backcombed, only major impact it had was that some of my dreads look different lengths too the others, not by much though
