I started a dreadblog the week I started my dreads and after updating it at the 2 month mark today I thought I'd decide to tell some people -http://dreadsi.blogspot.com/ Basically if you're just starting your dreads, considering them or know someone who is, if you wanna direct them there for tips and to see personally how much they change then it's all there If anyone's got any tips or experiences they can tell me then I'd like to add them in as well
"How to cheat your hair" Edit: Didn't want to leave it at this. Well, your dreads DO look really good, i hope the use of wax wont cause problems in the future, you should stop using it, if you still do. I could bet your dreads would look even better with some loose hairs, but that's just me.
Why the emphasis on Dreadhead HQ? You mention them so many times and there are a million cheaper alternatives to their product (like the dread band). Not everyone who reads it can afford to spend £30 on a band or $70 on a dread kit, you should add some way cheaper things in there. Overall it's a good blog. An hour or two waxing and palmrolling is overdoing it in my opinion. I think that some advice like 'make sure you clockwise rub your roots is unnecessary. It's a pretty pointless act because it doesn't work. Instead of saying make sure you find the time to do this this and this you should add that they are not really vital in dreadlock 'upkeep'. Just some constructive, non attacking criticism from me.
Thanks for the replies - Dunnox: Thanks I try not to use wax that much - I used it on week 1, 2, 5, and this week (8) - I do agree sometimes loose hairs look better but how loose mine were before waxing was not cool - I will never intend to use it that frequently, and as time goes on I know it will probably phase out of my routine hellodreadhead: I'm not trying to promo them or anything, but as you'll know they were who I got my kit off - if you any specific cheaper alternatives (any websites?) I'd love to put them in I also can't find that quote about the hour or two in my blog anywhere? Did you copy and paste it from my blog because I can't find it using CTRL + F ? Thanks for the input
I put two different quotes together. Both are in the paragraph that starts next to the last pic of you in your red T shirt. They look realy good. I get all my cheap headbands and stuff from eBay, places like that I'm not creative so I don't make my own stuff like you could suggest.
Ah, thank you - I put that amazon is good alternative Also, I meant an hour or two to do ALL the dreads, not spend an hour or two on each dread, if that's what you read it as, fixed it now cheers! And thanks for saying they look good haha, support's always good
