A movie about a celebrity golf tournament with a bunch of big name actors, playing themselves, in a partly comedy, partly satirical, partly serious film. Kind of a cross between blazing saddles, and JCVD. Then, throw in some random dude that gets really stoned. Only nobody knows who this is, but he shows up anyhow and plays in the touranment. Only problem is he's a horrible golfer! Though hes not the main guy in the movie, he just shows up randomly and does something really ridiculus. The main character is a dead beat actor, who is really down and out and cant get any more gigs in the US, but happened to be a REALLY good golfer, and goes on to win, or maybe just get second place. lol This guy has to really be a beat actor though in real life though, like Jean Claude Van Damme! haha What do you think?
My God Is That The Time..(checks watch).... Best GLEN Logs Out Rather Than Attempt To Reply To This One.... Cheers Glen.
i think that the execution is more important than the subject of a movie. in other words, most any idea could make a really good or really bad movie. if done right, your movie could be fucking hilarious. but it would probably not be done right, and would thus fade into obscurity.
hahaha glen you really have a high opinion of yourself. the movie could work...i guess. seeing that most comedies these days have just as much depth or lack there of, than what you have suggested. one question, how does this random nobody get involved in a tournament with professional golfers? unless he is another happy gilmore, this wouldn't be plausible.
any idea or concept can become cinematic...like undies said, it depends on how its executed. aren't you a film guy? how would you make this work, if you had to create a golf comedy with the said ideas?
And yes, any concept can be well executed. In my mind, plot is a series of events to establish a theme which teaches you something and tells you enough about the main character to love or hate the protagonist There are too many characters in his pitch already. A horrible golfer who shows up and does something silly? Cut him out is how I'd work with it for starters.
Visually appealing golf? Okay, so it's a celebrity golf tournament and Axel Rose shows up and tries poison all the golfers with belladonna. They go through the kingdom of magic on the golf course and Danny Bonacuche goes on the trip and emerges as king of kings in the eyes of the other celebrities.
Makes me want to vomit. But with the right stars and marketing budget it would probably make money. That is not a complement.
then tommy lee , by twist of fate, challenges axel rose to a sudden death round...but the poison back fires on axel as the other golfers try to disrupt his game while on looking form the side lines. it turns out he gave them lcd or some other drug by mistake.
Did that make money? Never saw it. But Hollywood consistently churns out shit and the public just lines up and eats it. They eat the shit and then they come back for more.
