Hey, I know I'm new here, but I've read a few posts, and it seems like everybody is pretty nice, so I have a pounding question for you! I am trying to finance surgery and hormones, all that jazz. I've already spent like $600 of my own hard earned money(pretty much ALL of my money). I don't have a very consistent income, and I am going to have a huge problem financing transition and all. I've asked my parents for some help, and all they seem to want to do is send me to counselor after counselor, that doesn't even deal with gender. So I'm pretty sick of that. I've put a lot of stress, time, and money into transitioning when I took it on myself. I have been told I am a great artists and musician, among other things, and still I can't find a decent job around this area or anywhere else that will pay me anything above minimum wage, much less even give me an interview or anything. I don't really present myself as a girl when I apply or anything, and try to look pretty normal, and fill out everything just like any other person would, yet I rarely get calls. I've tried "running" my own business among other things, and I was wondering if anybody had any advice on how to make $12,000 in a year or so... I have quite a lot of talent and I learn quick. The only thing I lack is connections and networking. My parents aren't really in...uhhh...businesses I would be eligible to work at.
