So apparently Bush's second term won't be a total loss! http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/11/04/ashcroft.future.ap/index.html
Heh, I bet he wants out before all of the lies and corruption are exposed... I wouldn't be surprised to see more resignations, including Colin Powell's, coming soon.
Don't be surprised to find another equally self righteous and tyrannical individual appointed to replace him. Neither Tom Ridge nor Karl Rove will be jumping ship though, so I wouldnt be too optimistic about what we can expect in the coming years.
If John Danforth replaces Colin Powell and Colin Powell replaces Donald Rumsfeld, the second term could be much more moderate than the first term.
The unitary party control gained over both the Executive and Legislative branches in this election ensures unhindered escalation in the pursuit of empire outlined in the PNAC agenda, not a moderation thereof. Dont waste your time on wishful suppositions.
First, Ashcroft's replacement might be worse than he is, if that's possible (I have a sinking feeling it IS possible). Second, I feel that Colin Powell's career is over, or almost over. Ever since his UN speech about WMD's, then the fact that there were none...when you think about this, you think about Powell, and that doesn't make him look good. We'll see on that one I guess. Third, LickHERish makes a frightening but good point. We'll have to see on that one too.
Hard to believe that anybody could be worse than Asscroft. I think Powell can't wait to get out of this administration as quick as he can. I think he's ashamed of that bogus set of lies he had to give to the UN ast year. And there's no way they'll move him to Defense.
I would be happy to see that asshole go, The only thing he is good at is trying to destroy our freedoms.
