To me at least... Bars always represented a place you could go chill... Shoot some pool, maybe play darts, listen to music, or watch what the locals are watching.
It freaks me out that you can't go relax at your neighborhood drinking trough/establishment anymore without ppl assuming a motive beyond being bored, or lonely in a nonsexual way.
I've traveled some long hours by bus and by train... If you're traveling alone, eventually you're going to have to talk to some strangers...
When the fuck did we become so insular that we rely on stereotypes to give us blindly followed preconceived notions of everyone?
I work with a lot of twenty something people... Recently heard this stuff about "cougars"...
Sometimes I really just fucking hate people. I noticed some tension in the atmosphere the last few times I tried going anywhere....

Deranged, I moved here last April, & all I do is work. I never have the chance to even make friends, in a couple hours I'll be back there on the hospital unit..
I don't like to go shopping, I have a stack of books that were given to me... So, not much chance for meeting ppl getting books, or shopping..
Maybe I'll eventually meet ppl at the damned laundromat...
How the hell am I going to find new folks to hang out with? I don't have enough money/time for any major hobbies...

Guess I'm just frustrated.

i think what she's saying is that people think she's there to prey upon their youthfulness and probably can't get anyone to shoot pool or throw darts with her. which is really annoying.
