Earlier I saw my friends and when I get there,, and about 6 kids running around the car, playing inside, 4 door wide open and keys in it.. I warned my freind that the kids cant be playing like that cause the car could easily shift and pin a kid between cars or simply run them over.. (then the party is really over) While it took a minute to register since Alcohol dulls responsible thought.. :toetap05: Why do people let their kids do stupid shit..
Because they're probably out buying chinese food. When I was about six, my sister was three and my brother would have been about two, we were all sitting in my parents' statesman outside a chinese resturant while they were ordering food. They'd left the keys in the ignition so we could listen to the radio so we wouldnt get bored. But I did get bored and snuck into the drivers seat to play with the steering wheel, anyway. I guess I'd managed to get the car in neaural because we started rolling back and then there was this "thump" as the back of the car hit something behind us. Next thing I know, this real big guy's at my door, leans in and pulls the hand brake up. Mum and dad came out a few seconds later, dont remember everything else but I'm guessing they prolly went apeshit at me. Turns out the guy grabbed the boot to stop it going back anymore and then came around to pull the handbrake back up.
We have an automatic tranny, so no keys, no rolling car. That said, I don't let them play in it. My husband does... My inlaws used to, until my son caught his hand in the door, and it locked, so he had to stay like that (screaming, of course) while someone ran in the house to get the keys, then we had to go to the hospital...it was my birthday, too, and we had just gotten back from a nice dinner to pick up the kids... I hate it, a car is not a toy.
HELL NO! My cousin lets his kids do that... he has like 5 kids... and when my kids go over there they get mad at me... I don't let them do it, not because I think they will break anything, but because THAT'S JUST SOMETHING WE DON'T DO. It scares the shit out of me.... but, I don't tell people how to raise their kids, I hate when people try to tell me what to do.
