Well now that it's pretty much summer, who else has seen some cool insects?

    Haha, I've got some pictures.....

I always see these caterpillars around here, but I think they're cute! I put him on the tree that grows into/over my deck up here. FIRST THING he does is find a leaf ans start eating it. haha 'twas amusing.

A cool ass luna moth I found at work fluttering around all confused. I tried releasing her but she flew back to the lights over the pumps. A few hours later when the birds came out, she was eaten. It was fucked up....haha

    Hahahahah!

Caterpillars are just slow and are easy to coerce onto your finger. Moths are the same way. Butterflies, on the other hand, are very hard to catch.

Yeah. I used to be total aspiring-entomologist.

And I'll vouch for you, Luna Moths are where it's at. There are several very cool moths. There used to be a really large kind that would land on our barn at night because of the mercury night. The cats would always get them. Which is kinda ironic, because I bet those things could pick the cats up if they wanted XD

    Cool pictures :)

Have you guys had the June-bug boom yet?

I've heard they're gypsy moth caterpillars but the pictures I've seen of actual gypsy moth caterpillars don't look like that.

I dunno. I wanted to know what sort of caterpillar that is.

I havent seen any June beetles yet, but in the past I've seen hundreds at once. Blech. :p

What do you mean USED to be an aspiring entomologist?

Yeah. I've seen a lot of catepillars that look just like that.

Give it time. They'll be back

I don't know. I guess I kinda grew out of the stage. It was something I went through when I was little. Don't get me wrong, insects are still incredibly cool. But I guess I just lost focus with them and stuff.

I'd say you're correct. Yeah they make those tents. Those things freak me out. A big weird tent full of them squirming around just makes me eh.

Yeah. They're quite a nuisance up here, because they strip the trees when they make those tents. And I don't have the heart to kill them.

I went through that stage when I was younger. I had like a butterfly raising thing going on, haha. It was pretty cool. I always have odd animals of some sort.

Still though it's cool to see the summer and everything it brings out :). Fuck winter, which is :(

Yeah. I raised butterflies. Had a nightcrawler farm at one point. I still have something weird a lot of the time.

But definitely. I really really dislike winter. And it's great to see everything come back to life come summer/spring time.
