You will have to wait till you dreads are tighter. Otherwise your tips will just keep coming out. If you crochet them into a tight dreads they will more than likely stay in. Young dreads don't hold in crocheted tips very well.

So unfortunately time is the only real help

If you like the rubber band thing, then go for it

I never said that I was going to do it. I was just saying that I saw it on another guy that I knew and they looked good regardless.

Did some grocery shopping at the co-op....made dinner....
*sidenote...i made theee best vegan mash potatoes with coconut milk tonight...anybody ever try that? if not do it...your taste buds will love you forever!

regular mashed potatoes use cow's milk or cream in them when you whip them. at least that's how i've always seen them made or make them myself. cows milk=not so vegan, at least according to 80% of the vegans i know.

today i did a buncha lounging. i'm too tired lately for much more than that! can't sleep with the restless legs thing going on and my kidlets are getting up earlier and earlier every day now that summer is upon us.

I dyed my bangs, loose hairs and a few of my dreads a soft black colour. The purple dye just fades too quickly on my loose hairs, and it fades to this awful grey...blech. I kept lots of my purple locks though and the purple really stands out against the black. I like it. :)

I've been out in the sticks for the past few days- dial-up internet sucks! Wow there was a lot of threads/posts to catch up on. I had a super weekend though in the country, it was so nice to get out of the city and have some bonfires and drink beer all day every day :cheers2:
think I might just flee the city for the summer altogether...but I don't know if I could give up me fast internet

I accidentally left a rubber band in the tip of one of my dreads, with it folded back on itself, and it turned into what I guess was a technically perfect rounded tip (which I then cut open once I realised what had happened), so yeh, it would work, but also look a bit shit too. I guess you could try folding them back on themselves then sewing or binding them with something? *shrug*
