I believe that last night I had my first experience with astral projection. my question is whether anyone here has experienced temporary paralysis upon entering "dreamstate"? I had three dreams. one where I could move at all or produce words. the second I was able to speak but not able to move. the third I could move but not speak, and at the end of that dream I could speak but my movements felt crippled.
I felt entirely aware but I had no ability to produce action. I felt disabled and helpless. It reminded me of a childhood nightmare. upon waking up, i was not sure if I could speak or move(i was actually questioning it) slowly i began to choke out a few words and move my positon.
I think that the problem was that, for the last month I have been attempting to astral project with no results at all. I have also been increasing my meditations. Last night when I did project, I was not planning on it(i had a long day and just wanted to sleep) I think that is what may have caused the confusion but I am not sure.
If anyone has had similar experiences or any comments at all, that would be helpful

Awhile back I had a dream that my spirit was leaving my body through my abdomen. It was like I was jet propelled through a tunnel ass over tea kettle. In this dream, the first few times I did it I had no control. I kept doing it over and over until I could control it a little better. When I woke up I couldn't move or breathe at first. I thought maybe I had been really out of body and not just a dream. :)

i think the worst part of the situation was the fact that I hadn't planned on attempting to astrally project. usually i like to mentally prepare but the sense of suprise had me confused and disoriented.
when i began moving "up" or "out" (not really sure the direction) i knew what was happening but i had nothing planned specifically in mind so i was caught off guard and confused.
next time i think i'll know whats happening and make my intentions more pronounced

yes, intention is everything. I haven't had much luck with astral travel. I kinda had a bad experience with it years back and haven't tried it again.
maybe something happened because you were relaxed and weren't trying so hard. maybe you've kinda programmed yourself so to speak.
